First of all, Morelli's isn't bluffing about their sugar-free banana gelato! It's literally sugar free, save for the natural sugar from the banana, so basically it felt like eating chilled cream with banana slices, and though I applaud them for having such a flavor, I won't recommend this hahaha! Any kind of ice cream is supposed to be sweet! The coffee cheesecake has a good balance of both components, though I'd prefer it to have a bit more of the latter flavor hehe =p As for my cup - yes, I had 3 flavors, hello mas sulit - I didn't enjoy the truffle flavor because it was just ordinary tasting. I loved the other 2, though! The berry one had just the right amount of tartness, and the dulce one, AHHH HEAVENLY. :) I love this place - the chairs are so comfy!!! It seems like a bar, not a gelato place. Can't wait to go back!

I was on a no-sugar diet then but just tagged along to check the place out. I was not planning on ordering, but when I scanned the available flavors, I was somehow attracted. Then, they also had a sugar-free banana flavor. Most of the time, when I try a sugar-free flavor, it is still sweet because of the sugar substitute they use. I never expected my sugar-free banana, to be really "sugar-free". I was surprised and amazed at the same time. I tasted real natural flavors on an ice cream. I enjoyed my experience. My wife had coffee cheesecake and I had a teeny-weeny sample. It was good and rich and the coffee is flavorful. However, the cheesecake was not that so. I was looking for the salty part of the cheesecake, but it only has the creamy part of it. Place has wifi and very comfortable chairs that you can actually sleep in. Although it is located in the middle of the mall, like a stall, it is attractive and has a cool feel.

Before other brands popped up trying to push the envelope, THERE WAS SEBASTIAN'S. Sebastian's does not get enough credit for changing the way we look at ice cream. Talk about pushing the envelope; Sebastian's introduced us to Green Mango ice cream (with Bagoong), as well as Champorado, Sapin-Sapin, and Quezo de Bola. And with their price point being on a manageable scale, this ice cream joint deserves more love. Am docking a star because their physical branch in MOA is a bit on the pits. Hey, it has to be said.

Sebastian's has become the epitome of innovation when it comes to ice cream, and I love how it has always pushed the envelope when it comes to offering new flavors for Filipinos to try. Green Mango and Bagoong ice cream, anyone? Or how about Bibingka Espesyal, Sapin-Sapin, or Puto Bumbong? I'm quite sure you haven't heard of these ice cream flavors before Sebastian's. If you're excited to get a taste, head to their nearest scooping stations and have your fill. But be warned: Some of their flavors, like the last three, are seasonal, by the way. But don't worry, you'll have many other equally yummy flavors to choose from there. Or better yet, head to Cold Comfort (the perfect name for their product, don't you think?), Sebastian's ice cream parlor, and get ready to ooh and aah over their selection of their ice cream sundaes, "dive bars", pies, and "burgers"! For those with non-adventurous palates, a.k.a. those who just want chocolate or strawberry or caramel, there's something there for your liking, too!

I don't know why we haven't done so before because the big, purple and white kiosk is pretty eye-catching. Anyway, it's always wonderful to sample different gelaterias in the metro to see what they have to offer (other than gelato, of course). For Morelli's, they also have coffee, milkshakes, soft serve gelato, and sundaes! What I love about their gelato is that it's very sweet and very smooth. It has this sort of full texture to it that doesn't leave you feeling like you've been cheated. Have you ever felt that way? Or am I the only one who feels like that when I find something lacking? The only downside I can see is that Morelli's Gelato is more expensive than most gelaterias which turns it into an occasional indulgence.

I was happy when I tried Morelli's because their gelato was close to the gelato I was looking for. Their gelato has the best consistency. It's thick and not runny like regular ice cream. They also have a wide range of flavors to choose from, most of which are delicious! My favorite, as always, is either vanilla or coffee. (Yes, I'm so plain that way). But the flavors are rich enough that they don't taste bland at all. I have yet to try their other items on the menu, but for now, I'm happy with my regulars!

Seeming that there is a cafe that closed in 2015, this must be the resurrection of MM in a stall type setup. It's on the second floor of the MOA (Mall of Asia) next to an Illy coffee shop (perfect combo). You pick 3 toppings, all laid out on the counter. So the playbook goes: pick your ice cream, your 3 poison toppings, and the person behind the bar assembles your Magnum. The toppings were delicious, the ice cream authentic; Magnums shipped to world locations like Manila, frozen. The flavors are consistent to the brand ice cream-- the only difference is each city has it own local flava when it comes to toppings. Great product, one less star for new and untrained staff. I got there and the guy was like "The right kind of ice cream wasn't delivered so you can't coat your ice cream in chocolate." So I thought okay fine. So then I picked a pre-made chocolate ice cream bar (because they didn't have vanilla) and I picked my toppings. He charges me the same price even tho it wasn't the same experience. The chocolate ice cream bar was mediocre. This entire experience was just a let down. I should have saved my money. And they just opened so idk why they didn't have all their supplies restocked. But I made the toppings work by biting the ice cream bar to make it a little melts and dipping it in the toppings.

Funny story: the first time I visited Cold Stone Creamery at Serendra one year ago I just thought…read moreit looked like a cool place to get ice cream. I had no clue about the acrobatic journey a scoop of ice cream has to go through before it lands in your cup. Imagine my confusion when one of the servers turned to me with a spadeful of Chocolate Devotion and yelled, "Catch!" Behind me, another server was holding out an ice cream cup like a baseball mitt, waiting to catch the ball. SPLAT! Missed. All my chocolate chips, fudge, and brownie lay before me like Humpty Dumpty. There was a moment of silence for the fallen scoop. (And shame, too, because the five-second rule crossed my mind.) The server apologized, picked the ice cream up, and cleaned the floor without a fuss. Then they made my ice cream all over again and handed it to me, this time, at arm's length over the counter. The staff was really humble and gracious about it. I told them not to worry. These things happen. Recently I noticed that the servers don't pitch the ice cream as often anymore. Now it's more of a gentle egg toss. "Catch your ice cream?" they offer. You can say no and let them give your ice cream the straightforward way. But if you say yes, they'll throw the ice cream AND the cup. Surprisingly, everybody's been able to catch it. Depending on your order, toppings can range from rainbow sprinkles to roasted almonds to graham cracker pie crust. My personal favorite, the Chocolate Devotion (P168), I would recommend to anybody who doesn't believe there's such a thing as going overboard with chocolate. With quality ice cream titles such as The Pie Who Loved Me and Berry Berry Berry Good, combined with fun-loving employees who can sing and dance and juggle ice cream--seriously, it's amazing how much energy they have--how can you go wrong here?
