This is an amazing gym. I got two free sessions with a trainer when I joined. The trainer i got was Derek. He took me around showed me how to use the weight machines. Set a routine. I really enjoy this place. I signed up here not too long ago and I'm very happy that I switched my membership here. At first, it's a little offputting because of where it is located, but don't let that fool you. This place is a gym in the truest definition of the word. It has machines, free weights, squat racks, and everything that you need to get you in shape. What I also like about this place is the fact that it seems like everyone knows each other or everyone sticks to their workouts without bothering anyone. There is enough space and enough room to get your workout in without having to wait for a machine for too long. There is music playing in the background but it does not blast into your ears like many gyms sound systems can do. The staff is helpful and are friendly and explaining and answering questions. Charlie was the person who helped me finish my registration and spent a good amount of time making sure that my barcode worked for my check-in app. I really appreciate that they have spray bottles to clean before and after use of the machines and chairs. This is important to me specifically because I am a caregiver to a cancer patient who is immuno compromised. While I know that it is very important to exercise, I also do not want to bring anything back into my home that I could potentially catch from anywhere which is why cleanliness is important. This gym is clean and I appreciate the effort they put into maintaining its cleanliness. I've only checked in a few times but I know that I can change with the help of this facility. I purchased a day pass a few weeks ago and had a horrible experience. Especially with the manager Edgar I think his name is. He was very rude, obnoxious and didn't help when I asked for it. Pretty disappointing to see a man like that running a fitness facility. read more

Have been going to this gym for years now and management is really bad right now, employees are even worse. There is no customer service at all, coming from a job where i have to provide customer service i can tell that if i was the manager i would have to change or let go some employees. I want to go to a gym where i feel welcome and this gym is making me feel like they don't want me there. And i do believe is not the gym it self is the people that runs it. read more

We've been coming here since March 2022.. we tried out training zone and realized nothing can compare to NS fit It's bright, open and the cleanliness is incomparable. Tammy is always cleaning. There is so much to say. If you don't have kids and you're not looking for amenities it does the job.... Otherwise not impressed. I will say the the trainer Jen is the best thing about this place. Otherwise it seems to be a revolving door of employees who are not trained to do anything or handle any issues. They have an app that never works. Someone was supposed to set me up with a bar code like 10 times I kid you not and no one could figure it out. I waited several times 10/15 mins while people shuffled around on the computer.... So annoying. So they gave up after a few months and never got me a bar code on my app.... Cool, So I had to wait at the desk to check in every time or literally walk past because no one is paying attention. This went on about 9 of the 12 months. It's laughable but seriously get it together guys! I just finished my year contract april/2022 and i can remember 3 managers off the top of my head and the most recent one now I didn't ever speak to. It's dirty I'm not being pick there it's literally dusty and dirty everywhere . Childcare is dirty my kids were constantly sick. The girls are nice enough but they didn't send sick kids home. I confronted the childcare staff several Occasions pointed out literal sick kids in the facility and they said they can't do anything. I then spoke several times with different managers over the course of my contract with no resolve. I did see they put a sign on the door at one point saying don't leave sick kids... but walked in and pointed out a kid with a green runny nose. It was the worst experience that I stoped bringing my kids the last 4 months of my contract which totally sucked being a mom and the gym is my time to do something for myself. I go to in shape now and it's so clean and the same price. the childcare facilities are much bigger nicer and cleaner. read more

Signed up for a 12 month contract stating the charge is $39 per month. Gym charged me more for the last month of the contract and is not able to give a valid explanation. The explanation given was "increase" in rate, then "credit card fees". They are not able to HONOR their own contract that they are making their members sign. Your contract has all the months and prices listed, you need to honor those prices each month through the end of contract. I had been enjoying this gym but this really left a bad taste. Instead. I'm being referred to read some paragraph about giving consent to contact that also clearly states "your consent is not a condition of purchase". Different stories from different people yet they can't credit what they charged more on. But they'll be quick to take your money or hold you in a contract. Do as we say not as we do!? Do the right thing for the member where you are wrong. The managers in the gym are not able to help and customer service which is a regional manager is no help either. read more

Very unhappy with the services provided here in Redding. I have experienced unauthorized CC charges after I asked the new manager to stop all charges. I also experienced injury from the zealous trainer who failed to do a proper briefing and who I did pay for 3 months. I liked the facility and convenient location for my purposes. The equipment seemed plentiful and new. I joined because I like the initial trainer I met with. He however, switched me to a young inexperienced trainer (probably to distribute workload) who did not take into consideration existing conditions (knees etc.) and pushed for overworking these ("pain is good for you"). I see a surgeon Monday. I can't recommend the Redding facility. Poorly managed and poor client service. read more

Was told by the person who registered my fiancé and I that NSFIT was month to month and we could cancel at any time. That's the only reason why we signed the contract because we live in SF and were in YUBA for a few weeks for work. Fast forward, we call to cancel. Employee who answers the phone tells us that we have a 12 month contract and that we can only cancel by paying a ridiculous fee. I took my credit card off the account, and have been contacted by collections. I allegedly owe 240 bucks. My credit score has not been affected. I am not paying. NSFIT, kick rocks. read more

The manager and staff are awesome and really helpful but I am unhappy that the owner wont replace any of the heavier dumbbells that are missing. They have bin missing for a months now. It's to the point where other including myself are at the point where we have to rubber band or tape other weights onto the end of existing dumbbells so can get an adequate work out and continue to push ourselves . read more

This location did have a fire last year but they rebuilt and it's open again as of a couple of weeks ago and is better than ever. It's open 24/7. I've been there 10 times since it opened and I absolutely love the new hoist equipment. It moves with you so it makes working out a lot easier. The treadmills are also better than ever. They have the ifit option and have so many features to get the workout you desire and afterwards you can post your workout results to Facebook or even send them to yourself. They offer 7 day passes on their website so that would be a great way to go check it out of you haven't done so yet. read more

It's okay...decent equipment, extensive hours but their employees are lazy and lackadaisical and can't even post updated class schedules, nor do they post their class schedules. Most of the employees are pretty clueless when you ask questions too, maybe they're all new? not sure, but they would have way more clientele if they actually had class schedules posted. Step-it-up NS-you have a fair amount of competition now that In-Shape is thriving. Pony up the $3 each month to print updated class schedules and train your employees-they're not doing anything else while they're working-trust me on that. The locker room and sauna is really nice though-way to go. Oh and they do have a pool, which is nice-although I have yet to use it. There's another location on Walton but it's small and pretty run down with limited hours. I would say three stars is generous but I couldn't do 2 because the equipment is relatively new and clean overall. read more
