I couldn't believe it when I saw it... was this really a Christmas market tucked in between a few buildings and a canal bridge in the downtown area? Yup, it's the Mini-Weihnachtsmarkt of your dreams. (Dreams I didn't know I'd have until I moved to Germany.)
When I first saw it up, I knew that there was already a Rathaus market a few blocks away, a Jungfernstieg market a few blocks in the other direction, an Älm market a block away, and the Fleetinsel market a block past that. How could this tiny shack possibly hold its own against those behemoths?
Quite well, as it turns out. Bigger isn't always better, and this little market has just what you need... Glühwein, crepes, and sausages. They even serve their Glühwein in styrofoam cups (the nerve!) and people still flock. Worth a try. read more
