Karlovy Vary as a town does not get too busy even during tourist season so I would not imagine having to wait very long for a seat if at all. The interior is like that of a log cabin. We walked the entire length of the river with its mineral fountains, alternately partaking of the waters and examining restaurant menus in search of this holy grail. We had pretty much resigned ourselves to a basic nondescript meal near our apartment, when we came across this establishment, with a menu that went on for pages. One of these pages even mentioned steak tartare! So in we went and were immediately seated in the downstairs dining area between a raucous group of local women and a table of card-playing men. We ordered a dish of the aforementioned raw beef and sundry other appetizers, plus a main course for each member of a family with wildly-diverging tastes. All got what we wanted, a good time was had, and the service was excellent. Although we were inside, there is also outdoor seating as this is located in a pedestrian-only zone.

Sure, you could say that they were rude but I think this behavior is reserved for tourists. For some reason they don't seem to like tourists. Pathetic, I know. My advice is to just have a few of the delicious draft beers, order some chunks of hearty meat and kill the waiters with kindness laced with a bit of sarcasm.
