Nelson animal hospital is a wonderful clinic to bring any animal into. I don`t work at the clinic…read morebut i have seen how the doctors care for each and every animal that comes through the door. They`re the only animal hospital in the city that allows payment plans if you`re low on funds. This `Alex H` person who left a bad review isnt even a client at the clinic they live 7 hours away and have never taken a pet to Nelson Animal Hospital. . I know this person. They`re voicing a personal vendetta against Dr. Quinn for calling them out on their abusive nature. I don`t care how embarrassed or angry someone is, trying to negatively affect someones business by posting bad and obviously fake reviews is just plain dastardly. The doctors at this clinic treat each animal as if they were their own. Dr. Quinn is one of the most compassionate and empathetic Doctors out there. FIVE STARS!!!!

Hands down the best Animal Hospital I have ever been to…read more Each and everyone of the staff members are extremely caring and know the value of what our pets mean to us. I'm unfortunate in the sense my dachshund has had some health problems, but extremely fortunate that it's Nelson Animal Hospital I get to take her to. Each and every single time I've walked in the door, the service is absolutely unlike any other. The staff are so patient and professional with us worried owners and make you feel as everything will be handled to the best of their abilities, which seem endless. Each and every staff member are so knowledgeable and have a calm and cool attitude. With myself being a crazy and over protective dog owner, they make me feel so at ease. They do not push you in anyway to spend money on unnecessary tests or products. They speak from the heart as if they were talking to their own family member. I remember I told them once, I would like to do what I can for my baby, but I hate to say that I don't have all the money in the world. They completely agreed and didn't make me feel horrible as that's just the case for anyone! They gave me a few different options of what I could do, cost efficient and a more direct route and explained the pros and cons for each. I did not feel any pressure at all. Dr.Sharon Grant has got to be one of the loveliest ladies I have ever met in my life, and I mean that whole heartedly. She is so compassionate and well informed that when she explains to you what she thinks needs to happen, you truly believe your beloved pet is in the best of hands. Nelson Animal Hospital without a doubt goes the distance when it comes to our pets. I will NEVER go anywhere else in the world. It's a 5 star service, and it will not break your bank. I am so fortunate to have heard about this lovely Hospital. Thank you for all you do! -Dahlias Mommy

He didn't like it at all when we started out a month ago, so I tried crushing and giving the pill in yogurt. That worked well, but it was a lot of work for me, emptying the little capsules, and mixing the medicine with yogurt. Apparently that was okay for him. Then my husband got the idea of feeding his pill wrapped in Kobassa. That worked absolutely great but I worried about the fat contents of the Kobassa. I talked over the problem with the Southside experts and they suggest Ben Bullys broken up and mixed with the medicine. It worked like a charm. I mixed it too when his dinner came along and he licked the bowl clean. What a relief it is when you don't have to worry about your beloved dog anymore. Thank you Southside. Yet another reason for absolutely knowing you're the most caring vet clinic in Burlington.

Beattie Pet Hospital (I have gone to the one in Burlington but there are locations in Stoney Creek…read moreand Ancaster as well) is always full of welcoming faces that make you feel calm and confident that your pet will receive the best care. This past occasion was for a spay surgery but with other pets, they have gone on to save their lives! Another hospital was insistent to keep running labs for a miniature dachshund while the steroids they had put her on were causing her liver to fail. The doctors at Beattie recognized the true issue and put the dachshund on medication to flush the steroids and stop the damage. A much happier outcome than what could have happened at the other hospital. Pricing is about normal for pet hospitals but the staff are willing to work with clients to help alleviate financial concerns where they can. If your pet has an emergency or a standard treatment and you're in the Hamilton area, you might want to consider Beattie.

The Beattie staff were incredibly supportive. They said to come in whenever we could, they cleaned and wrapped him up so we could see his ears, eyes and nose, they gave us a room and all the time we needed to say our good byes. The vet talked to us, answered our questions and arranged cremation services. It wasn't until today that I realized it was free of charge. Thank you so much Beattie, I can't begin to tell you how much comfort this brought my daughter and I, as we try to cope with our loss.

When you walk in, it will be quite evident by the aroma that many cats are treated here... So if you're a cat allergy sufferer, or you like a more sterile environment, this isn't the clinic for you. Prices reflect the attention and quality of service (read "higher"), so you'll want to call around if your animal is undergoing a significant procedure. My only major complaint stems from a situation where our cat was in desparate need of medial attention (violent vomiting bile). We called at 2 mintues to 6 in hopes of quick words of advice, or an emergency visit... The phone was promptly picked up, and hung up. Our phone call immediately following (after thinking this may have been an accident) was met with an answering machine. Obviously somebody wasn't interested in helping out that afternoon. A bad experience, but the individual at the other end had no idea of what was happening here and it was the end of the day... So I'm partially understanding. But, closing at 6 is still open until 6.
