Vinny came to our house and was very detailed in explaining what he thought the problem was and how he would fix it. He listened to my questions (I tend to have a lot) and didn't try to upsell us. I assumed the problem would need a French drain and more and he felt confident that we didn't need to go to that expense. He said he could do all of that but we would be fine with an exterior membrane. I met with two other waterproofers who pretty much said the same and Vinny was the middle quote -yet we still chose him because he was honest and down to earth. Also I liked that his sons do the work so I trust they will take care to do it right. They scheduled us pretty quickly and got to work right away at 7 am. Three of them hand dug a 25 ft x 9 ft trench over two days (originally was supposed to be one but they needed a second because of our collapsing soil). They sealed the foundation and took care to replace my window wells, put my Sprinkler lines back, and stack the pavers they had to remove. They were respectful to me and my neighbors and didn't mind me hawking over to see them work every once and a while. We were very pleased with their work would recommend them.

Let me begin by saying that Lopez Chavarria is not a serious and responsible person when it comes…read moreto his business. I had him do a repair at my property (front deck/porch) in which he said there was no need of permits in the city of Middletown NY. We came to find out that since he replaced 4 beams/poles that hold the second floor of the house, OF COURSE, there needed to be permits done. The worst part is that instead of using the property materials and the right measurements, he used nails instead of screws and placed two pieces of wood together to hold the second floor. The deck was crooked, and they just patched it with new material and did not level it. His reason was that he was not able to do it because apparently the support was going to snap, which the new company did a WAY BETTER JOB at it to the point that it looks even. Also, the fence on the deck was done so poorly that my daughter held onto it and I caught her in midair since it came off of the fence. When they came to "fix" the issue the glue that was applied looked horrible and it was dripping everywhere. I had also told them to leave everything finished nothing temporary and the last step of the stairs was a tripping hazard, and it looked like it didn't belong there. When the town inspector came over to check the work that was done, it came back with many violations in which Lopez Chavarria did not fix and instead ghosted us and kept telling us that they left everything as it was and as you can see of the picture the old deck had poles and fences going from top to bottom which they did not do. Instead of taking responsibility he blamed us for not cleaning the debris and for the inspector showing up at our property. The person he hired Marvin (JAKE) that what he calls him, here in NY because his company is in Jersey, his supposed partner, kept telling us that they were going to fix it but in the end they both ghosted me and left me with a debt of more than 20k since the entire thing needed to get re-done from scratch. I wasted materials and money on this company.
