Northwood studios is a small green screen studio, which is 5.9 metres by 6.3 metres, and 3 metres tall. Good for music videos, animation projects and films.
Del who owns the facility is a fantastic help. He will leave you at your own devise, but if you need a helping hand, like using the crane or making sure that the green is not reflecting on to the actors/ singers, Del will be more than helpful.
There is also a lighting Kit, which is more than sufficient and that is free.
Other facilities include a Production office, that has offline-editing suite with broadband and printers, Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, Adobe Encore, After Effects, Avid Express Pro and more.
And to keep the talent away from the set when you are busy arranging shots, there is a green room and kitchen with fridge, microwave, kettle, toaster, sandwich maker, and two toilets.
It also states on the website that they are able to organise catering with a company on site as there is a café across the car park.
What is great about this facility is that Del Wilson will be there to help with any and every need, it is a very friendly facility.
I filmed there for one day, for a music video and that took £220 out of the budget, which was a really good price for a day that started at 8am and finished at 6pm. In fact, I think it may be the cheapest in London. I originally wanted the facility for only half a day, but Del told me that they don't do half days. Come to think of it, I was expecting to pay around that price for half the day anyways. So it's a real bargain.
The only problem with the site is that it is a little difficult to find, unless you are local to the area that is. The nearest tube is New Cross, and the nearest train station is South Bermondsey. read more
