While I was there, I felt so comfortable with her that I ended up getting a tooth extracted that had needed to be gone a long time ago. The tooth she removed had a previous root canal that had failed and cracked and was infected. She pulled the tooth and quite honestly, I did not know it was out until she said she was cleaning the infection out. I know this sounds kind of gross but it can happen. Sometimes its really hard to find a friendly, compassionate and exceptionally skilled professional all in one. That's how I feel that Dr. Braswell is. Also, her assistant is perfect for the job because she found every way possible to provide me with whatever I needed. While she was asking me questions, she was listening to my answers and also listening to what I was not saying. This skill set is not a common skill found everywhere. Mind you I've been coming to Laser Dentistry since I moved to GA in 2018 and Dee my hygienist up until she left over a year ago was the absolute best. Ever since she left, I've not been too pleased with my cleanings and Tara gets crowned "the rudest, most uncaring, rushed job, smart mouth Queen. When she started, she was rough and I told her I have sensitive teeth and asked her to be more gentle. She said "I can tell by the look on your face" and laughed. I said, Yes, you're too rough". She proceeded and was still rough and rushing. I told her she was hurting me and she replied, "Sometimes we have to bear the grit and pain". It took everything in me not to snap on her because she clearly had no clue that I'm a loyal patient but I'm not some kid she can talk down to. After literally 15 or 20 minutes, she was done. I asked her what happened to polishing my teeth and she told me she did that first. I said, "oh really". Oh I forgot to say the first round of X-rays she did came back with "error" so she had to do them again and was very rough with the "bite" process as well. After Dr Nguyen came in to check X-rays etc, he told her to do something that should've done initially that she failed to do. Then after that she told me I was done. Mind you she never gave me a rinse so my mouth felt gritty and she didn't give me my dental care package. I complained about her at checkout and thankfully Caroline went and got my rinse and Char got my care package but I overheard her tell Char, "She was only here 30 minutes" as if that was justification for her not giving me my care package. All I know is I told them I would not sit in her chair again and that she needs a whole lot of training on bedside manners and not rushing! She thought it was all funny. Luckily, I love the staff because my experience with her made me think about finding a new dentist. However, I realize she's the bad apple in the bunch and she will not run me away. So warning, go to Laser but if you want a great teeth cleaning and good bed side manners, stay away from Tara's chair. She SUCKS! I was warned it wouldn't covered by insurance and they were right. My insurance paid a small percentage of the total even though I have some coverage for implants. I had a number of visits and everyone at the office was super nice and I never waited long. Come surgery day I opted not to be put down. Dr Pumphrey probably wishes he had as I asked a number of questions through the procedure. There was some crunching and pulling and drilling but it wasn't bad. I mean you're having a tooth broke up and yanked out. I asked if I could keep it and he put it in a bag for me. I showed it off that weekend to grossed out friends! I was so OK after the surgery I went straight to Costco to get groceries and returned to work. I never took any of the pain medication I was provided. No issues at all after that. 6 months of stowing my chewing gum in my new storage spot and I had a new tooth put in. My dentist said Dr Pumphrey did an excellent job while bolting on the new one.

Simple and cozy and the Zen garden is incredible. They told me that Dr. Pumphrey does the gardening himself! :-) we were taken back on time and the doctor came in after just a couple minutes with his very nice assistant. Dr. Pumphrey was so wonderful. He has a very soothing, gentle demeanor. He made my nervous mother feel very comfortable and explained his plan for her very thoroughly. To diagnose her he took a scan, that took just a minute, and was able to show us a 3-D image of her tooth, show us the concerns and explain the solution. I love the high-tech aspect! While we were in the dental chair, my mom started coughing and Christine came right in with two bottles of water. What a wow! Super impressed how they anticipated our unspoken need. He recommended a very conservative treatment plan. He was very considerate of her time, her travel schedule, and the potential for discomfort. She and her awesome assistant Missi put me at ease immediately. They and the entire office staff are genuinely kind people who care about people and you feel that the minute you walk in. I have been in for procedures as well as rechecks and they are all just as helpful, caring, and accommodating whether it's a Monday morning or later in the week. Doctor Baker seems to embrace new technology and procedure changes and adjustments as they come along. I have never gotten the vibe of that old school, resistant to change atmosphere I have found in other offices. As procedures are done, Dr. Baker explains what she is doing and is continuously conscious of my comfort level. Her assistant, Missi knows her stuff and the two of them work perfectly together. Missi is very attentive and concerned about discomfort as well. Even my chapped lips were tended too while I was there. I was also offered a blanket before my procedure. I have always left there with all my questions answered and complete instructions for my aftercare, prescriptions, and a realistic expectation of upcoming pain levels and duration. I also have the Dr.'s cell phone in case I have any issues. I would prefer to not have dental work done at all, but since that's not an option I feel blessed to have found them. This is a great doctor with an awesome staff.. right down to scheduling, payment processing, and acknowledgement of your arrival and departure. If I could I would give them more stars.
