Additionally, she explained & offered other services to me that she knew I needed, such as life insurance, and at times renters insurance, all of which I'm grateful to have. It's rare to find somebody in the insurance business that's so dedicated to personal relationships, but with Darlene, you will find personal service and tons of knowledge & experience! Parts warranties, service, and the entire experience was better dealing with State Farm. Now that we are with State Farm, my daughter was hit by a driver carrying insurance apparently from a foreign country. She called Larry Kirchner, and was summarily kicked to the curb. All that Larry's office had to do was to give her the claims number, but instead they told it "it is easier" to deal with the other party's insurance. My daughter was left to attempt to navigate through the trying process of having her car repaired with a foreign insurer for whom English is a second language. Do they have the same quality of repair shops? Do they warranty the parts and the work the way State Farm does? I don't know, and Mr. Kirchner didn't either. It wasn't his concern. When I called Mr. Kirchner to take issue with the shoddy treatment my daughter received, he doubled down on his comments. "You'll have to be out of pocket for your deductible," he said, "and if the other insurer denies responsibility, you won't get your $500 back." How dumb! I asked Mr. Kirchner what made him think that if this foreign insurance company won't pay State Farm and their teams of experts and lawyers, what makes him think they'll pay me? He didn't have an answer. It would have been so easy to simply refer my daughter to the claims department. We trusted this agency enough to write them a check each month, and when we needed their advocacy, their assistance, and their expertise, they summarily dismissed my daughter without any regard for her difficulty, because it was easier for them. If I hadn't been there to help her and direct her to the appropriate people, she'd have had to struggle through the process of getting her car fixed because her agent couldn't be bothered to help. I was auto-assigned to someone in the Lawrenceville area and it was an absolute horrible experience fake promises to call me back they never prioritized me as a client and I would have to call them every other day to get any type of update which turns out were all lies. After a month I was willing to take another credit hit just to get a new agent for my re-finance this is when I called ahead to Jason Huynh's office and talked to Qui. She is very professional, kept very good and fast responsiveness and made me not hate State Farm again. Mr. Huynh please do something great for Qui she deserves recognition for her ability to turn a horrible experience into a least stressful one and I am grateful to her. Ryan will be my agent for life. I have pretty high standards coming from USAA. In the past they…read morenever asked any questions when accidents happened, simply, "are you okay and in a safe area?" I never thought I would leave but after a minor accident a couple years ago I had a completely different experience and left USAA. I had 2 previous accidents where the person who hit me had State Farm. I was so impressed by how expediently, hassle free, fairly, professionally, and politely they handled the opposing sides claims that I decided to go to State Farm. It was a no-brainer, if they lost money but treat me that well then they have to take care of their clients that much more. I knew of Ryan through friends and decided to give his agency a try. The auto prices came out to almost the same as my USAA coverage with a slightly better deductible if I bundled my auto policy with home owners. I was happy to start off paying the same monthly amount given how cheap I thought USAA was compared to other providers. Ryan puts a personal touch into his agency which I can appreciate coming from a technology software and services background and having worked in a service industry since my mid-teens. He personally meets with as many of his new clients as possible. You might be a recovering cynic (I mean "realist") like me and think it is a sales pitch, but he never once tried to push more services on me. I would know, in the past a large part of my job was selling warranties and service contracts, and I was good at it. He did make sure I got the coverage I needed and I was happy with my other providers, but that is just as much, if not more, about making sure your clients know what you offer and have a chance to decide whether it is right for them. When the time comes they cannot blame you for not offering and letting you know the benefits. I picked up on something from meeting with him, he was trying to build a rapport with his client, understand their goals and what was important and make sure they had their needs met. It is smart to meet with you and attempt to begin a relationship building process. If you take care of someone well, and know what is important to them, then they will come to you with the needs you can meet. In this regard, good relationships work to the benefit of both parties. This personal touch is something that my previous insurance company lacked. It is really nice to be able to call my agency instead of a corporate hotline. Although State Farm agents are captive and cannot sell other companies services, they are still autonomous in large regard. State Farm is the largest insurance agency in the US. In my experience so far this has been a positive. I was even able to drop AAA and save money because I get free towing through insurance. More recently, I started asking for more from Ryan when it came to my side business. I was really blown away by the amount of time he invested when he knew he would not be getting any more business. The insurance I wanted for my business was outside the scope of what State Farm offered but he called several people that did what I do and came back with a lot of very helpful information, including contacts and options. I have also spoken with his staff and everyone so far has been knowledgeable, polite, and helpful. If I need to add something to my policy, remove a policy, check coverage, or just ask a question I have gotten what I needed promptly. It has been a pleasure so far.

However, what is even more concerning is that we have NEVER been able to talk to Ryan. Anytime a questions has arisen he has deferred the issue to one of his lackies. Even when I contacted him directly via his email, he has not responded himself. If you are still interested in State Farm, find an agent that cares about personal service.
