My family and I have been seeing Dr Wong for at least 20 years and will continue to do so for as long as we have dental needs. It is only fitting that his office is on quaint Main Street in downtown Pleasanton as the service he provides is almost nostalgic for me coming from a very small Midwest town. His approach to his work is equally 'old school', that is he takes care of the patient, explains what they need to know, and then sends them on their way. Our prior dentist spend far too much time trying to convince us of work we should consider doing. Her constant pitches made my wife and I uneasy so we were relieved when we started seeing Dr Wong. When I moved to Pleasanton in 2000, I needed to find a local dentist. I made the mistake of going to one of those strip mall dental clinics near my house. From the moment the receptionist didn't welcome me, to the "live video camera shots" they showed me of all the work I needed to do, to the final discussion with the "financial consultant", it was my intuition screaming "get out of here" fighting my foolish desire to be polite. Then I found Dr. Wong right on Main Street in Pleasanton. What a contrast! Small, friendly office, great welcoming staff, and the "good doctor". Dr. Wong believes in dentistry practiced with integrity and professionalism. He is conservative in his assessments about work that needs to get done, and he always lays out the alternatives. And he stands behind his work--100%. I had a bridge replaced several years ago, and it didn't quite fit right. The lab had made some assumptions about how I wanted it to look, and they had assumed wrong. Dr. Wong had me talk directly to the lab people, and then he replaced the bridge at no cost to me!! If you want great dental work delivered to you with honesty, integrity, a fair price, and good cheer, go see the "good doctor" in his office on Main Street. You won't be disappointed. Dr Wong has been my dentist for about 8 years now and he is by far the best dentist I've ever seen. General visits go smoothly and Dr Wong is great for those, but I also had a tooth break recently and he answered all my questions on why that happens, what to watch for, what to change,etc... He is also the dentist for my wife, my parents and two coworkers. Dr Wong is just the dentist I was looking for. After 18 years with Dr Debruin in Livermore, he retired and I was not happy with the people who took over his practise. I tried one of the strip mall dentist and they wanted to do a bunch of oral surgery and then cap my teeth for a hollywood smile. I consulted my long time pariodontist (also great) for a dentist with integrity that would work well with her. She highly recommended Dr Wong in Pleasanton. Dr. Wong has been my dentist (and now the dentist for my spouse and young children) for over 15 years. Although during that time we have changed doctors, jobs, restaurants, grocers, and even phone service, we have never considered changing our dentist. When it comes to dental work, Dr. Wong adjusts to your comfort and sensitivity level, whether you are 4 or 40. My kids don't mind dental visits at all; for several days after a visit, I often find them pretending to be Dr. Wong himself, providing dental services to each other on the couch - x-rays, cleanings and all. On a few occasions, we've had some dental emergencies where somehow Dr. Wong's staff would manufacture an open slot during the same day's busy schedule. You walk out of his office feeling gratitude for their effort to fit you in. You get the feeling that all the services Dr. Wong recommends are reasonably necessary for your good oral health. Insurance billing is seamless and we haven't experienced any surprises. read more

My Dentist of 25 years retired and this led me on a journey to find a new dentist. After a bad experience with another dentist, I found Dr. Wong. He is downtown Pleasanton, what a wonderful location! You can hit Starbucks right across the street before or after your appointment. I was greeted like I had been a patient for 50 years, very sweet front desk staff! Believe it or not Dr. Wong cleaned my teeth (this is not always the case he explained as he has a hygienist that works some of the days). I felt fortunate on my first visit to have him perform the cleaning and exam. He spent ample time with me explaining the health of my teeth and soft tissue, My impression is this is a very professional office. He takes a conservative approach but not at the risk of your oral care. Trust me there are dentists out there that wanted me to do a - z to me once they saw that I had top of the line insurance. He has always been precise, courteous, and most important of all, skilled. I had a tooth emergency today: I called, they squeezed me in, they did a temp "patch" & scheduled me for the next appointment for the option of my choice. For not having an appointment, I was in & out in about 30 min. My biggest fear about the dentist is the shot in the gums, which he does really pain-free. I worked with 2 other people today & everyone was very kind & helpful. I've been to other dentist, many years ago, back in the braces phase of my life & they were rude, arrogant, the receptionist didn't seem to care. That is not Dr Wong & his staff. Dr. Wong is awesome! He's always very cautious with his patients and I love that during a procedure he stops to make sure his patients are doing okay. He is always very honest and doesn't take on work that isn't necessary. This is so unlike other dentists that I have been to where it seems as though they will replace things, drill, and fill when it's not necessary - possibly for the $. Not Dr. Wong...he is very honest, caring and fair. I would highly recommend him to anyone. The rest of his staff is amazing as well! read more

Dr. Wong is our family dentist, so he serves my wife and I and our three small kids. His staff is always fun and courteous and Dr. Wong is by far my favorite dentist I've ever gone to. I've been seeing Dr. Wong Since 2013 and he has been a fantastic Dentist. The office staff is friendly and accommodating and get to know you and your family. Dr. Wong is a gentle and continually checks on your comfort level. They have never brought up doing anything cosmetic, in order for them to make more cash the way a dermatologist might.
