For starters, there's ample parking ,and space is large. The inside was beautiful, with nice design, not to mention the wedding designers definitely did their thing! There were very eloquent stairs from which the bride entered, which added to the storytelling of the couple's big day! After the ceremony, a kitchen window opened and catering set up the food along the back wall, allowing the space to quickly transit from a sacred ceremony to a fun time! The music shifted, there was an open bar, and LOTS of dancing! I haven't been to a wedding that held its reception in the same space as the ceremony, but I appreciated it for several reasons! One being that it saved me an extra commute. Two being that it allowed the bridal party the ability for a swift change without having to transport wardrobe and accessories to another location. And three being that we didn't have to wait on food or wait hours for everyone to situate at another space! Normally, you find yourself waiting or needing to find something to do in the in-between time. This was convenient, clever, and elegant, and I strongly recommend people using the space for their wedding if they want to hit 2 birds in 1 stone while not compromising on the elegance. Amazing ceremony, awesome venue!

Originally owned by Ursuline nuns and subsequently occupied by PT Beauregard and Francis- Parkinson Keyes. FPK also wrote a novel called The Chess Players, based on chess champion Paul Morphy, who was also the grandson of the original owner of the house, LeCarpentier.(A great book). Our first tour a few years ago was just us and the docent. There was an ermine cape as worn by FPK and I tried it on. It fit perfectly. Another Urban gem in New Orleans.

It is located in the French Quarter, but off the beaten path.
