Our server was very helpful and accommodating for a large party on a short notice (with dietary restrictions too) and was very attentive to us. I can't remember the last time I tasted such fresh and flavorful lemongrass and bamboo shoots! Every dish was a special treat. We had a marvelous evening here and would be more than happy to return. I highly recommend Cok Cok Thai.

I love Thai food. My very favorite. This was the worst Thai experience I've ever had yesterday. I…read moream mostly vegan and asked the waiter why the red and green curries were not vegan. (Do they contain egg?) He went off on some unintelligibe rant about chili crisps that made no sense. He clearly had no understanding of the difference between vegan and vegetarian. My wife ordered mushroom soup. I ordered red curry with tofu. We also ordered the tofu satay. After 55 minutes the food arrived. Her soup was not correct, had no mushrooms, and was the wrong kind altogether. My curry had no tofu. The waiter then argued with me that I ordered veggies instead of tofu. My wife's "corrected" soup came out 5 minutes later and was basically salty water with mushrooms in it. The portions were small and nothing was very good at all. We also ordered still water, one beer, and one whiskey, neat. The entire bill was just under 4,000 Turkish Lira, or ~$100USD. Insanely expensive for what was provided. We knew ahead of time it was expensive, and wanted something non-Turkish after eating strictly Turkish food for ~10 days, but this was just awful. Avoid at all costs. We could have had a great fine dining experience for much less money.

My friend is mad about Japanese food but she never been here so we decided to give it a try…read more They have a much more traditional Japanese ikazya setting when you walk in and a more modern back room with tables (even though most were wobbly) I noticed the menu had a lot of Thai and Chinese fusion...so I started off with hot and sour soup. It wasn't bad, however I prefer mine much spicier with vinegar, this was more peppery without any sourness to it. My companion didn't enjoy it Next dice we loaded was the nigiri mix. She never had it before. I was shocked by the quality, truly a pleasant surprise. And it had wasabi between the fish and rice, true Japanese style. We both enjoyed it very much. Next we had a fried squid(ika) roll which I've never seen available before. It was very good. And a traditional California roll which is the same anywhere. I noticed the crab stick was in much larger portion than is typical, which is nice. Finally the volcano roll. It had shaved fried onion on it, which was a nice textural change than just having cucumber. The spicy/siracha mayo was too hot for my companion however it was mild at best to me. I definitely recommend this for anyone in Istanbul!
