Good food and interesting service!... Roaming around Irvine searching for somewhere to eat with something soupy and warm, my girlfriend and I came across this place. We joined the Yelp waitlist and once it was our turn to be seated we went inside. Once inside, we waited in another line to get to the check-in kiosk which was a little inconvenient since it cause a crowd of people to awkwardly wait inside by the front door. I feel it would have made more sense to place it outside of the restaurant. The host, or at least the person at the register for the to-go orders, was stressed and it was very obvious. She was visibly in a hurry and talked extremely fast and seemed to be running out of breath. The one server (at the time) was also walking around stressed and at times was visibly upset with that person. The restaurant wasn't full, but the seating on both sides were taken. The long table that runs in the center was completely empty. Well, empty until we came. We got seated at the long table. Any who, the food is what you want to know about! I ordered the Spicy Beef Noodle Soup/Rice Noodle Soup and the Beef Roll Pancake. It didn't take long to get the food, maybe 10 minutes at most. How was it? - Spicy Beef Noodle Soup/Rice Noodle Soup: Chunks of beef shank, kale, pickled veggie, cilantro, and green onions. Between standard round and knife cut noodles, I went with the knife cut noodles well... because my girlfriend chose it haha. It was a good choice though, they were wide noodles and hit the spot. The meat was good, decent sized chunks and very tender. The soup was tasty and had a good kick to it. - Beef Roll Pancake: Beef, green onions, cilantro, and hoisin sauce. These things were huge. Plenty of greens in each of them. I've had beef roll pancakes at other places and wasn't a fan of how sweet they were. The ones here though, are just the way I like it. Not overloaded with sauce and not heavily sweet. These were good. Plenty of parking everywhere in the lot, though I can see it getting more full later in the night. We came around 6PM and didn't have a problem finding a spot. Service was OK. Even with the limited interaction that I had with the stressed out workers, it got me feeling stressed as well! My absolute favorite place in the Irvine (and the surrounding area) to get beef noodle soup! Every time I have friends visiting from out of town, this is one of the spots I take them to, and everyone (even those who have not had the dish before) absolutely love it. We always get the Spicy Beef Noodle with knife cut noodles. The bowl is quite huge, so sometimes it's enough to share among two people. If you're sharing a bowl, be sure to also order the beef rolls, another of my favorite items on the menu! I've also ordered take-out from here quite a bit, and the spicy beef noodle actually travels pretty well. You'll get the soup in a separate container from the rest of the toppings so when you get home, it's easy to just reheat the soup in a pot and then add the toppings in once warm to get the same tasty dish at home. I'm surprised this place isn't more packed, but at least that means if you're ever in the mood for delicious beef noodle soup, you won't have to wait too long to fill your craving! read more

The knife cut noodles were thick and chewy (qq), the broth was flavorful and the leeks added a nice herbacious note. One critique I did have was that I wish the bowl had a few more slices of beef, but overall the portion was solid. The beef roll was also very tasty with its crispy pancake shell filled with thin cuts of beef and green onions however, I would have appreciated a bit more sauce in the roll. The service received was excellent and quick. The staff were attentive and constantly offered to refill waters. I'm not sure I would classify this as traditional Taiwanese beef noodle soup, I think this is more Chinese style of beef noodle soup. I don't love their soup base so much because they always add so much cilantro, but I would say their noodle is probably one of to best in the noodle market. Their noodles are made fresh daily which gives them the bouncy chewy texture instead of the mushy flour texture that you get from premade middles. Other dishes to get here is their beef wrap. It's good but it taste just like any other noodle soups that makes this same dish. The restaurant is usually near and clean. The service is a-ok, so just a typical restaurant to get something fast and not so bad food to eat. read more

Happened to be in the area a couple of days ago after a nice 3 mile walk at the Jeffrey Open Space Trail at Encore in Irvine. There was an asian restaurant row (about 4 or 5 with Chinese, Japanese and Korean options in the Northpark Plaza. We ended up at Noodle St. Clean with good, friendly service. I wasn't sure at first if this was a Chinese/Korean fusion because their menu includes Beef Roll Pancake and Korean BBQ over rice. After checking with one of the female servers, she confirmed this is a Chinese restaurant. Their starter menu is similar to what's at Seven Grams. We love Beef Roll but their version here has a lot more green onions and cilantro than beef. I would prefer to have more beef or even just a nice balance of beef and greens at a minimum. Sorry I forgot to take a photo but the Beef Bulgogi is very good, with tender meat pieces. I can tell it is the chinese version. Nothing wrong with that, just a forewarning not to expect the Korean version here. I ordered a small bowl of the signature noodle broth and it was comforting. I would be open to trying the Signature Beef Rice Noodle soup next time. read more

The restaurant is super clean and modern, with pop music in the background - playing anything from"Play that Funky Music White Boy" to "Hips Don't Lie." They have nine hot noodles, along with appetizers and rice dishes. I've had the Signature Beef Noodle, which I was scared would be too spicy, but it was just about right and the Savory Braised Chicken Noodle, which had a very generous portion of chicken and was a little spicy. It's impossible not to make a mess (or maybe it's just me) and the table was covered with splatters after I finished. My husband doesn't eat meat and orders the egg with tomato noodle. It's not spicy but they have chili oil on the table. They also have bottles of hand sanitizer on each table as well. I've come for lunch on the weekends and never had to wait. Service is super quick! I finally got around to coming to this spot in Northpark Plaza. Plenty of parking out front so no need to stress. The inside has a take out counter as well as a dining area. It is up to date and trendy which makes it an excellent spot for all ages. I ordered the beef fried rice and savory braised chicken noodles. The portions are respectable for the price and will definitely leave you very full. The beef fried rice was excellent, seasoned thoroughly and very filling. The beef portion was a little less than expected but that may be because it was chopped finely. Great flavor and very filling. The braised chicken noodles were great as well, boasting a huge portion and delicious broth with some spice. The chicken was melt in your mouth delicious and the hand pulled noodles are spectacularly chewy. Excellent service to boot, our server was pleasant and attentive throughout the meal. I wanted to try something new. Saw this place along a line of other restaurants, idk why I chose this one but I gave it a shot. I ordered like a chicken bowl. Bf and I have had it twice so far and it is definitely being added to our rotation! Food is good and filling, service is quick and friendly, and the ambiance is nice even when they're busy. I also love how each table has a bottle of hand sanitizer for customers to use! The inside is very modern and clean. The first time we came, we didn't know how big the portions were so we both ended up taking our entrees home for a second meal, which isn't necessarily a bad thing as it's cost efficient. The service both times we came was great. We were seated quick and our food came out at reasonable times. They also checked in on us frequently and I appreciated the server bringing me a pair of scissors when she saw me struggle to split the noodles into my bowl (the noodles are super long and chewy btw and it's sooo good!!). ~THE FOOD~ Crispy Tofu: I thoroughly enjoyed this. They were little cubes with a little of seasoning on top with sweet and sour sauce that paired very well with it. Personally, I'm not a huge fan of sauce in general so I think it tasted just as good without the sauce. Definitely my go-to from now on when we come back. Beef Roll Pancake: my boyfriend enjoys this. They do pile on a lot of cilantro and green onions, which he doesn't mind but it can be a lot. We've def had better, but this was still pretty solid. Egg with Tomato Noodle: I ordered this the first time and fell in love with it and it is now my go-to order lol. The egg on top is perfectly cooked and goes so well with the tomato sauce that it's almost addicting. When my bf tried it the first time, he really enjoyed it and liked it better than what he got! I tried it with knife cut noodles the first time and personally wasn't a fan because of how short the noodles are, but they are chewier which I like. I tried it with standard noodles today and I think that's more my speed, even if they're long and impossible to separate onto a bowl haha. Signature Beef Noodle: my bf ordered this and he enjoyed it! It satisfied his craving of having noodle soup, was beefy, and once again, it's a huge portion. Watermelon Juice: perhaps it was out of season when I ordered it, but it wasn't as sweet as I would like it to be, but it was still good and refreshing. I think when watermelons are in season again I'll have to give it another shot. Overall, this is a solid place to stop by when you're craving noodles. Been here a few times already and I love the food! One of my favorite beef noodle soups in Irvine. Service: they're really responsive and quick so the food doesn't take long to come out. They also gave us scissors to cut the noodles so it's easier to share or you're getting less dishes and want to try other things. Food: Both the beef noodle soup and the beef scallion rolls are solid. The soup is really flavorful and rich but not to the point where it tastes artificial. We ordered the noodle with minced beef, seasonal vegetables noodle soup, and tomato egg with rice (off menu). The portions are huge so come with a big appetite or be prepared to take the leftovers home. The flavor for each was also excellent, although as a personal preference, the seasonal vegetable noodle soup lack the deep rich flavor that the other entrees have. I've tried almost every item on the menu on other occasions and you can't go wrong. Service was prompt and attentive. But since they get really busy during peak meal hours, be prepared to wait a bit or, alternatively, come during the md-afternoon. read more
