Disappointing. It was a cold day and I was craving a hot chocolate. I debated heading over to Denman St. to Dulcinea to get my fix, but was much closer to Granville Market. I remember seeing this place written up someplace as having amazing hot chocolate. So I decided to finally give it a try. Ugh! What I got was a watery flavourless cup of cocoa for $4. It reminded me of the cocoa I used to get at ice skating rinks as a kid. I don't know how they make it (instant?), or what went wrong, but those previous reviews I have read about it were clearly of a different cup of cocoa! Yikes! Will not be returning. Ever. read more

If you either work or attend school on Granville Island, you get a discount! Gotta love those little perks, they sure keep me going back. Plus, their smoothies are rad! My go-to is usually Chunky Monkey, with peanut butter, yogurt, banana, and some chocolate sauce (there's protein in there, I guess, with the peanut butter... that justifies ordering this, for me, haha) Sooo much yum. In my experience, the baristas, smoothie-makers are pleasant, smiley, and pro. I have never gone for any of the warm drinks, some of which seem quite the unique blends, although I will sometime soon! read more
