Kelley was fantastic, sharing her knowledge of sustainable beekeeping and the care that goes into producing pure, organic honey straight from the hive. The farm gift shop was stocked with incredible raw, unprocessed honey, honeycomb, and beeswax products--we left with plenty! We're so excited to come back this summer for the Honey House Tour, Beehive Tour, Forestry Tour, and Queen Special Tour! Getting to work a live beehive with a beekeeper and see the honey extraction process will be unforgettable. If you're looking for the best raw, organic honey in Indiana and a truly unique farm experience, Hunter's Honey Farm is a must-visit!

So many cool things about that experience... 1) I used a chainsaw for the first time and now I want to cut down all the trees! 2) We put something that wouldn't fit in our car in our relatively new truck bed... it was sooooo big! 3) While I was there, I bought several jars of their honey (again)! They have completely embraced the "hot honey" trend and are making some amazing honeys that are perfect for a nice "drizzle" on pizza, a Christmas ham or even as a sweetener in your green beans or spaghetti sauce! Their service is fantastic and you're even able to taste a few before buying! Go see them for gift baskets or to join their "honey (not jelly) of the month club" #iykyk

Our first stop was a different travel agency and they were unable to book what he wanted. Not to mention, they made it sound unsafe for him to travel alone. So we went to Edgerton Travel and spoke to Jessica. OMG! She was planning on traveling to Japan the week before my son was. She was quick to put my mind at ease. She booked a non-stop flight from Chicago to Japan and back home and used a tour company with whom my son could contact if the need arose. She made sure he was booked in hotels with good ratings and included train passes for his travel around Japan. My son made some changes to the proposed travel itinerary and she was happy to oblige. When she was all finished, she presented him with a beautiful itinerary which had hotel information, tourist attractions and how to get to each area. She was even kind enough to give me a copy as well. I have to mention the 1st full day my son was in Japan, staying in Tokyo, a level 3 typhoon hit. He was fine, but it worried me. During my son's last few days, he wanted to stay a little longer in one area than was planned. Jessica helped him make the changes to his hotel stays. Upon his flight back, Jessica even sent me a personal message to let me know that his flight was coming in on time. What travel agent does all this? JESSICA AT EDGERTON TRAVEL DOES!!!! Thank you Jessica!

For $116 (for 2 people) my husband and I got a horse buggy ride through Amish country with a kind Amish gentleman as the guide. The horse buggy ride led us to an Amish farm where we got to tour, milk cows, feed a newborn baby calf, and taste fresh milk. The tour was just amazing. The community was unbelievably welcoming to us, they all explained their culture, their beliefs, and taught us so much about their self sustainability. After the farm tour, we had dinner at an Amish family's house and I just want to say, from the bottom of our hearts, it was a once in a lifetime experience. The family was very kind and it was a wonderful experience to share. The food was excellent, too! Overall, I can't recommend this experience enough. The pictures don't do it justice, you have to experience it for yourself!

That's a quick loop with a few historical tidbits and any questions you've ever had you can ask them here. 6.00 Then we ran around town all day and came back at 4pm to do the dairy farm tour. We ended up driving to the farm because they were booked up for the three buggies. The farm is about two miles away and since we were there first, we got to meet the horsies and cows and goats, take some pics, pet and love them. Once the tour started, you get to see where random tasks are done around the farm, then we got to feed a baby calf and try some fresh milk. THEN WE GOT TO MILK A COW!!! It was fantastic. I'll never forget the feeling, I know it's weird but I felt really calm and happy leaving this farm and this Amish community as a whole. I would recommend to anyone to spend a couple days in this area and unwind.

The docents gave us recommendations for a great family diner to grab breakfast down the street (can't remember the name unfortunately) and also suggested a self guided driving tour called the Heritage Trail. We received a free CD that directs you in about an hour and a half long loop (or all day if you take your time at each attraction) to all of the sights and attractions of Elkhart county and the surrounding Amish countryside. My boyfriend and I are young people and it was exciting and fun for us too so put your notions aside and just do it' It takes you through the major cute towns in the area and also to off the beaten country spots like Bonneville Mill Park (the historic mill is open and active Weds-Sunday) which was a real treat. It goes into historical detail of many of the spots and the directions were easy to follow. The visitors center also gave us coupons and had tons of brochures on local attractions. The quilt gardens were also a great tip from the docent to take a look at. We grabbed delicious donuts at an Amish bakery and wandered for hours around the Shipshewana flea market (open Tues/Weds). Even brought the pup along.

There are sports stores and then there are gems like this. If you need it, this place has it or it can be had. Like with my taste in food, I will travel great distances to find that one great place. My entire life has centered around outdoor activities that do not require a ball of some sort. This has also turned me into a gear fanatic, so yes, I can go broke quick here. On that note, the gear you will find here is reasonably priced. I used to travel to Indy for my gear habit, but REI is just to big and Rusted Moon, although cool, is just too proud.
