This has proven to be a major mistake. for more than six months I have made repeated attempts to schedulea meeting or zoom call, with little to no response. When an appointment was finally scheduled, I unfortunately had a conflict that I communicated in advance-but since then there has been no further communication from Jason or Wendy. I initially spoke ith Wendy, who was responsive early on, but now my calls go to voicemail and my messages are left unanswered and no response to my emails of which Wendy initially responded to. I have have emailed multiple IRS notices to the firm, yet received no reply or acknowledgement. As a result of their lack of professionalism and complete failure to act, I ow have an IRS notice for over 10,000 due. As a licensed professional, a CPA takes an oath to uphold ethical and professional standards. This firm has failed to meet event the most basic level of client care or accountability. I now find myself having to file an appeal with the IRS, report this firm to the Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services, an share my experience so that others can avoid going throught a similar ordeal. Hammernik and Associates always manages to make the tax experience less painful. When I was relocated to Wisconsin, Hammernik & Associates managed to work their way through the relocation paperwork and tax forms from two different states without batting an eye. In addition, they answered all my questions and showed me exactly what they had done and how they arrived at the data. Lately, because my tax forms have been less complex, I've been assigned different tax people nearly every time. In all but two instances, it didn't matter to me. The first time I was assigned a person who had zero people skills and even less personality and he acted offended when I wanted him to explain what he had done. The next time, the person whose name was on the signed form, although pleasant enough, wasn't the person who actually completed the form and couldn't really answer my questions. This, even when I had an appointment several days in advance so as to give the person time to review the form and be ready for my questions. I struggled between three and four stars, but even in the worst situations, they've managed to come through. And, they are very reasonably priced for the the services they offer; so four stars it is. I've since found a local accountant, but not one that compares to the quality here. Mr Hammernik, however, is a 5-star CPA all by himself. If you're lucky enough to deal with him on your tax issues, you'll know what I mean.
