She then used a very specific metaphor (i.e. "it's almost like..."). Except that it was not "almost like"; it was, indeed, the exact topical framework I had chosen for my thesis the week before. Until Kelly, only my professor and my mentor had been aware of it. Fairly, I cannot guarantee that anyone else will have this experience. Cards were pulled and immediately tied to sweeping conclusions that could apply to almost anyone, followed by loaded questions designed to force agreement.
