Nothing says a fair, smart, yelp reviewer like first trashing the whole city of Worcester before giving your fair review of a family owned business (sorry princess you cant yelp review a city yet, awwww) second (I threw up in my mouth when you criticized a liqure store for no carrying your nasty ass goose liver?!) I yelp review, your yelp review, one star Eek! Methinks not. Ok I feel better now, any who the idea of reviewing a liqueur store is a bit like reviewing a gas station: price is driven by location....... and SERVICE? come on people! Some crack head with a gun can run in any min. and rob the joint, I personally not expecting some one to kiss my ass when I'm shopping for a bottle of scotch. I came on to let all my fellow Yelpers know that this place does the biggest freest wine tasting in New England. We drive into Worcester just for their biggest one in November there are like 40 tables, of some of the best wine distributors in the area. Check there website they have a ton of mini tasting in their tasting room weekly. So, big selection, fair pricing, and huge free wine tasting, come on as good as it gets.

They have a good cheese selection as well. And they are always offering free tastes of the cheeses. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable about everything in the store. If you live in the area, definitely worth stopping in. One of the finer wine shops in the area.

It's located at 1839 Lower Rd (Rte 32). Fun fact: Old Furnace was significant at the time of the American Revolution, as a location that manufactured cannon balls. The OFGS was reopened less than 6 months ago, has a license to sell beer and hard liquor with an impressive assortment of such for a small footprint, an assortment of delicious pastries ( I tried the carrot cake whoopee pie and a brownie, both outstanding), has excellent coffee and an assortment of sandwiches delivered daily around 10:30 AM. I met the new owners, Amber and Jeremy, truly nice people who are thrilled to bring the store back to life, and passionate about their venture. I was pleasantly surprised to see how well stocked the store was with food and sundries. It is no secret that I love seeing local businesses succeed. The coffee and pastries were an excellent value. I did not see prices on the beer and wine. The is plenty of parking and a couple of picnic table under an awning to eat at outside. Please take the time to stop by and sample what Old Furnace has to offer. You will be surprised and delighted by what you find. They will begin selling ice cream and sundaes soon.
