Terrible customer service. Employee extremely rude. Service animals are not welcome. Took our spending money elsewhere.

We even stopped by The Truman House nearby. As a huge fan of bookstores, when we passed by Sundog Books in the evening as our last stop before heading back to our hotel, I was impressed by a well organized and large (and fun) bookstore with so much to see. We didn't roam the second floor as we arrived shortly before closing but there is a record store on the upper floor. We did see apparel and gear for sell including sweatshirts, t-shirts, hoodies, tank tops, hats, mugs, bandanas, and tote bags. In scanning the various sections of the store, I quickly found some of my favorite fiction, historical fiction, and young adult fiction sections along with non-fiction favorites. I also found some new ideas of what I could read next, which I promptly added to my Goodreads account. I also enjoyed roaming the fun gift items, which were very creative but perfect for book loving visitors like me. Established more than 40 years ago by Bob and Linda White, the logo features their former dog Patty. The store was founded on individuality and a respect for independence though nowadays continues to focus on community. Check out their website at https://sundogbooks.com for online shopping, upcoming events, the Bookstore Buzz, and to learn about them. They give out their own Seaside Prize each year to a worthy author or authors. They also have multiple book signings in a typical week (listed on their event calendar). They are open from 9 AM to 8 PM year-round. While I love music and regret not seeing the second floor of records, I was very happy I made it to the store while it was still open. Now, if only I had enough room in my luggage for a number of books to buy while I passed through. Rather, I'll have to settle for online ordering from Sundog Books, which has some rather reasonable prices for a bookstore. I certainly recommend that visitors visit the bookstore and record shop!

Such a fun bookstore! The staff were friendly, they had a great selection and it seems reasonably…read morepriced. The store is packed from floor to ceiling and wall to wall with books and gift items. I will stop in whenever I'm in the area for a vacation read. Be sure to check out the record store upstairs as well.

Went to B&N this past weekend to purchase a book and to pass the time until I could meet my…read moredaughter and sister at AMC to catch a movie. I didn't have a problem at all finding and purchasing the book I wanted and the cashier was super nice. My issue was with the person in the cafe, hence the 2-star rating. My plan was to have a slice of quiche and start on my book. I stood at the counter for longer than I thought was necessary. The person behind the counter was making a coffee for another customer and when done, called the customer to pick up the order. Then the person proceeded to prepare another order, I assume for the folks who were sitting down waiting. Not once was I acknowledged; she walked past me at least twice without saying a word, not even eye contact. I was totally bemused! It was if I was invisible! Needless to say, after a while, I just walked out. No more cafe' visits for me! Subpar customer service at best. :-(

A bit small compared to other locations of this chain, but it'll do…read more This B&N is pretty standard. It has your Starbucks café inside, as well as your customer service desk, children's area, and the like. I passed by this past weekend to get some books. Lately I've been obsessed with the Bridgerton books, and well, it being Tallahassee, it made much more sense to get them at a bookstore over Amazon. Much quicker! Not to mention, too, that they recently changed their membership program, and being the bibliophile that I am, you know I'm a member. I should also add that their app is super convenient in that it tells you if they have books available. You can also order them for pick-up, but I chose to go there instead and peruse. I somehow limited myself to what I went for, but I admittedly was tempted to purchase a book by Isabel Allende. Next time I'm sure, next time.
