Despite my slight aversion (read lifelong phobia) of smiling…read morelabcoat wearing/shiny toothed dentists, it was more boredom than fearful curiosity that I accompanied my brother to his orthodontic visit. Having made extensive research into braces my parents decided to head to Centre St orthodontics mainly because of recommendations from friends and the good Dr's reasonable prices. (It's probably the lowest on the northside) The main man here was a bundle of laughs and had more dad jokes in his repertoire than...well...my dad. Aside from the the playful banter, Dr Yap was brimming with advice, tips and recommendations. Any guy that distracts a kid from painfully tightened braces, is more than AOK by my books. (And his assistants were more than friendly as well!) Every case is different so prices will vary, the $1000 braces removal may seem a bit hefty but it does comes with a years worth of appointments and aftercare. If you're longing for that hollywood smile, I recommend a good long chat with Dr Yap.

Sometimes I feel really passionate about writing reviews for companies similar to QML. They're not…read morethe type of thing that get written reviews very often, but sometimes it's the type of thing you need to know about. My doctor asked me to get my blood tested around 8am, so I headed to the QML in Nundah around then. It was nice and quiet, I was the only person in there, I was in and out within 15 minutes. Yes, yes. This is how it should be - but is it really like that often? Usually I have to wait among screaming kids and too noisy daytime television shows. But it was peaceful, fast, and the lady who took my blood was pretty friendly (look not as good as the lady I had at Chermside QML but she was exceptional). This QML is also in the same complex as Nundah Medical Centre. Also an orthodontist if that's what you need. It opens at 6am weekdays and is also open Saturdays. Oh, and before I forget to mention - the needle was great. Well, as great as a needle can be. Hardly felt a thing. I always fear the needle coming out. There's this weird feeling that makes me nauseous when a needle comes out. But none of that this time! Didn't feel a thing! Well done, Nundah QML. Well done indeed.
