I provided my information, and someone by the name of "Kim" who txt me twice asking if I could attend a virtual call. Once I joined, this lady name dropped like crazy!! Which seemed too good to be true. That meeting went on for longer than 30 minutes. Come to find out it just wasn't to be an extra from roles for different shows/movies and fashion shows. Then she starts talking about pricing how "it was $400 but it's brought down to $100 with a $30 something membership." She then sends you a link, that is only good while you're on the call, when I asked if I could come back and see if I wanted to do it she said "no." I just left this zoom webinar today for open casting for my daughter. I can't say that they are a SCAM. However, it SURE felt like one. My daughter has been with a legitimate Model and Talent agency for several years and they do NOT charge any fees up front. They will take a commission fee after you book a an event like a commercial, tv scene or a movie. The Nine9 presenter name dropped movies like Netflix Stranger Things, Coca Cola commercials, and Tyler Perry movies. The Nine9 presenter stated that needed to audition people TODAY for companies like Coca-Cola by the end of the day, however they DIDN'T audition ANYONE, It felt a little a bit sketchy when wanted to charge $99 fee to set up your profile and $39 monthly recurring fee on your credit card to apply for these roles. I also asked the presenter if there was a conflict of interest if we had a contract with our model and talent agency and she had the audacity to state there would be none WITHOUT even considering to look at our contract. Okay, weird, but maybe we will be reading sides or they want to hear me talk about myself or something. RED FLAG. 2. Got onto what was supposed to be an audition for Outer Banks season 4. It was more like a misconstrued "industry" briefing. Didn't want to get to know talent at all. RED FLAG. 3. Asked for money up front, plus a monthly fee. LITERALLY THE BIGGEST RED FLAG. This is when I left the call (I wish I could have warned others in the chat, but it was disabled. Shocker).You should pay your ~licensed~ agent when you book a job, and only 10%. You are not the exception, the success stories are likely fake, this is a scam. Tip: Make an Actor's Access profile. It's free, and allows you to do literally the same thing that this "un-agency" claims to provide. Do not let yourself be tricked. These scams target desperate people (actors, lol) who genuinely just want to work. You are a star, you don't need to pay to get submitted for jobs. They work with so many shows and movies! They don't require anyone with experience! They don't take any commissions!.... wait. No Commissions, then how do they make money? I finally saw this call for what it was when she explained that there were several "packages" that we could buy to get photos and our measurements. They wanted to setup a Virtual Open Call with me prior to me even knowing who they were so I asked which company this call is for? After I was provided this information I was prompted to initial websites seeming to be Nine9 created where it seems like all is on the up and up but I found numerous reviews outside of Nine9's control indicating this is definitely a scam company. You'll be asked to provide money up front for miscellaneous and membership services. I answered an advertisement on Instagram seeking talent for Law and Order extras. I filled out the quick info form online and was contacted by a representative via text message expressing interest in interviewing me via a virtual casting call( zoom). I was informed of the virtual date and I needed to select a virtual call time, no negotiation on possibly selecting another date / time since I was working on the date offered. I agreed to the time, rearranged my schedule to be present for the ZOOM casting call. The meeting was held by a representative that spoke of her experience in the industry, N9 history,etc. This was a group virtual meeting with the initial impression of a private meeting but apparrently no video/ sound of the participants was visible to me or the N9 rep. She was very convincing regarding the industry, work and talent they potentially represented. She did not speak on the job that I signed up for but offered a wide range of talent they were seeking ( models/actors). After 25-30 minutes, she proceeded to send links to everyone to click on for setting up a professional account with the agency and providing your credit card for a one time fee of $99 (ironic) and a monthly membership fee of 30+ . I messaged the rep on Zoom, while searching for complaints on the BBB. I explained that I was not prepared with a credit card at the time and she said "don't worry, I'll send you another link that's good until 11:pm tonight. DEFINITE Signs of a SCAM ( pressure for payment/ complaints with the BBB. She quickly shouted out the names of the poor souls that gave their personal details/ payment to her( as if you were being left out of this once in a lifetime chance of stardom). I immediately left the ZOOM meeting and blocked N9 email/phone number. Definitely not worth it. Went in and was told to come the following day for a second meeting and to wear appropriate clothes for taking a head-shot. Was then told about the $499 fee and monthly $39.95. This had me confused as my grandfather and brother are both SAG actors and have never talked about paying fees to their agencies.
