I have participated with their media research several times through the years as I believe their work is important as they are researching the demographics of who listens to the radio and watches television, and exactly what channels and shows they listen to and watch. With the Internet, there are great changes in what people listen to and watch. If I were a business, I would highly recommend seeking their advice before placing advertisements. read more

So I was chosen again by Nielsen to participate in a T.V. recording survey, after submitting an online survey. The initial payout was $1 for receiving the online survey invitation and $10 for completing it along with a t.v. diary to keep logs of what I watch. If completed, there will be another $10 received. I think this is great for people who want to know their habits and it is nice to get paid for it too! Their customer service is very quick as I had a question on how it was suppose to be mailed back. Hi, Nielson is dishonest and makes promises they do not keep. When they came to me about signing up 2 members of my family were on the fence and you have to have entire household participate. They offered those 2 members an extra $100 each to join in. They accepted and the equipment arrived and we started the program. When it came time to pay the $100 each they back peddled and said that their representative made a mistake and we could only get $100 total and only to head of household. Never called to tell us this just waited until we asked about it. Then instead of keeping their word and giving what was promised they just acted like we should do it anyway. Which by the way we would have done it for nothing. They offered us the $ and they came up with the #. But I can't do buisiness with a company who doesn't keep their word and lies to customers. Very sad, I was looking forward to being a nielson family for years to come. read more

A large, modern campus with all the ammenites that you could ever want, the Nielsen Media Research company is absolutely beautiful. You honestly don't know that it's there, nestled amid the tall tress in Oldsmar, unless you really look for it. Ample parking, the lobby is clean and neat with plenty of seating if you have to wait around. Sadly I didn't get to see much more than that. Nielsen is a much respected business in the Tampa Bay area, and so many folks attempt to get jobs here, I've never heard anything bad about this place. read more

The agents that they send to your door are stalkers. A year or so ago I told them that I was not interested in participating and yet they continued to knock on my door. I had to call the company to tell them to stop sending people to my house. Fast forward and yet again they are texting me at 8pm asking me if I am still not interested. I confirm that is correct to please find another participate in my community and yet I still receive texts asking me questions about how I watch tv then asking me if one of their agents can come over the following week. This company does not understand the word NO. No matter how many times it's told to them. If they don't understand that then I do not want them in my house nor do I want them putting a device on my tv. read more
