Mochiko chicken slightly burnt...or maybe it was the last ones fried. Fried saimin tastes like mine...so it's good!

Love this place! If I'm not mistaken this is the same lunch truck I use to go to 28 years ago when it was by Hawaiian Airline. If it is...it's still good!

This place is a bang for your buck! Hard to find plate lunch within this price point in Downtown. Very hefty classic plate lunches. I got the Kalua Pork and it was so huge, I had to split for two meals. I love their lemon vinaigrette dressing for the tossed salad side. It's sweet and tangy! I also recommend the steamed sea bass for a lighter option.

My honey and my brother both work downtown and weekly go to Nicky's for lunch. They both constantly rave about the options, delicious food, and best of all, not-so-urban-Honolulu lunch prices. I finally went one day with my grandfather to pick up food to meet my brother at ASB. It was a quick walk to her spot on mililani, and despite there being 5 people in front of us, sistah got us in and out in less than 5 min. You can tell the people in her line are regulars because they all know what they want and didn't dawdle in line over the extensive menu like I did. We ended up settling on lau lau, steamed fish, and garlic fried chicken plates for three of us. Honestly 2 plates would have been sufficient to split, but we weren't complaining about leftovers. I'm shocked this one woman show cranks out such solid food for 3 hours straight, but she sure is good at it

I almost cried this was soooo good...beef stew mix with roast pork and brown gravy. Shoots, gravy all over!!!

If I haven't already left a review for Nicky's, it's about time. I've been buying great lunches from them since they were located by the Honolulu Airport in the old United Cargo parking area. The food is incredible for the price, good portions and choices. So many choices but come early because there are always a few folks in line and certain dishes may sell out fast. Choose your rice, green or mac then an entree or two, or three since you can make a custom mix. From beef stew to Vietnamese spicy fried chicken to curry to musubi to Hawaiian plates and so much more. The service is great, so sweet and accommodating, you'll become a regular. Everything is good, and served with true Aloha. Go try, support a local small business and satisfy your appetite too, from a food truck that is truly winnahs!!!

Nicky is super nice, food fresh, reasonable prices and quick service. Her menu changes so be sure to check her gram for updates on the eats. By noon there's always a line and food is almost all gone. I love the spam musubi as it's soaked in a lovely sauce and super flavorful and generous in portion for $3. She makes only a few so get there fast to grab your rice ball! Everything has a nice homey, hearty flavor and tastes of just Hawaii local home. Definitely a lunch option in terms of affordability, genuine service and taste! Stop by but check to see where she will be at!

Classic plate lunch food truck. She parks right across the street from the HGEA building in downtown and there's always a line for good reason. Her prices are reasonable and her food is ono. She's also really quick so even if the line is long the wait isn't bad. I ordered the mini roast pork with extra gravy. Less than $10 and perfect amount of food for me. She takes cash or card. Definitely check her out if you work downtown or in the area.

I placed a small catering order 3 weeks prior to a small Friendsgiving gathering by Instagram message and she confirmed she could do it. Now, 4 days prior to our gathering she messages me that she can't do it because the amount is too small. I honestly wish that she had told us prior to begin with that she couldn't do it instead of bailing on us 4 days prior so I could have searched for other options. My friend was back in town and she really wanted local types of foods so this was rather disappointing. I used her catering services in the past and I remembered her food and how affordable it was so I wanted to support her and support small again. However this has left a sour taste in my mouth after this happened and i don't think I'll even bother supporting now as we're scrambling to look For last minute options.

The last time I reviewed her was 7 years ago! Now in 2025, I must say that she still loves what she does and her food is still incredible. One-woman show, great service and slangs the best local grinds at reasonable prices. No wonder she has such a loyal following. Go early (like before 11am) to wait in line. Pay with Card or cash. Choose your plate type, choose your side. I am floored at how many delicious entree options she has! I went on a Friday where she had Hawaiian food. I opted for a Lau Lau plate, side chow funn and Mac salad. WOW. Everything is just like if you walked in to grandma's house and she made you a homemade meal. I will definitely be back for the lamb curry, roast pork and other Ono grinds! Cheers to Nicky's Lunchwagon!

IYKYK!!! if you work downtown, then you know this place. its just a small food truck run by one person! she's so speedy but get there fast because the line gets looooong. food is DELICIOSO! i got lechon kawali and it did not disappoint. it has a strong garlic flavor (i love garlic) and there were plenty of onions / tomato. mac salad was interesting bc I never had spaghetti noodles in it before... but it was gas! so gonna have to try that at home. def recommend if u forgot to bring lunch like me! worth the money (and the wait if u come later)

Garlic Fried Chicken. Super tasty, crispy skin and juicy chicken. She never disappoints.
Shannon H.

Always a line because it's that good. Try to go early so some selections aren't sold out. Everything I've had has been so good. She's quick and always super friendly. Convenient in town too, right near my office.

Nicky's Lunch Wagon is such a convenient, affordable, and quality place to go for those of us who work downtown and have a 45 minute lunch. Vicky is so fast. She comes prepared and has your food ready in a minute. The food is a healthier, modern version of all the classics we all enjoyed growing up in hanabata days. Go early, because the line builds. But trust -- it's worth it. A large plate lunch will cost you just under $10, and the food is quality!

Nicky's is still as good and she's still as friendly!! My go-to's are the garlic chicken plate with noodles/fried rice and mac salad and the roast turkey plate. And my kids love the spam musubi. But you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Line is usually long but moves quickly! Plus, at least you can stand in the shade while in line.

Mochiko chicken with added spicy sauce, chow fun, and potato Mac salad
Nicole I.

$8 lunch plates are u kidding me??! Usually this place is on mililani st during lunch time but the other day it wasn't there. :( Tried again yesterday (Wednesday) at around 12 and it was there. This place always has a line but it moves super fast! She has everything ready to pack up quickly in a lunch plate so you don't have to wait for anything to cook! And yet the food tastes fresh and so delicious. Ran out of the spicy fried chicken so we got the mochiko chicken and she was nice enough to add the spicy sauce right on top. Do not sleep on the potato Mac salad. It's probably the best I've had and it's kept real nice and cold! The chicken was cooked perfectly and everything went together so well. I will definitely be coming back because $8 is a crazy deal for all the food you get! Love this place!!!!

With the recent flood happening at the end of March, and our trip being in early April, going to North Shore wasn't advised. While we have some great Hawaiian garlic shrimp spots in Arizona, we had to at least try to get some garlic shrimp while on Oahu. We gave this place a try just because we were already in the building. It wasn't a choice we made prior because honestly, I would have suggested trying a more well-known spot like two miles away, haha! We shared a $14 Shrimp with Original Garlic sauce on it and made it a combo with rice, a scoop of potato mac salad, and regular salad, $14 + $6. Sam's Kitchen was okay. I would have loved to have the shell-on but this place does not offer shell-on shrimp. Still, they make a decent garlic shrimp.

And on one of my last walk in Waikiki, I got on of his hotdogs. John and his staff were incredibly welcoming. He's originally from Philly, and as someone from the East Coast, I immediately felt that warm hospitality. John is so sweet, he even offered me the hot dog on the house... completely unexpected, but a true reflection of John's demeanor. I went with the chicken hot dog "John style" (well that is everything but the sauerkraut). I wasn't hesitate about the mustard because I'm usually not a fan but the staff insisted it was more like Dijon mustard anyways. The hotdog was loaded, flavorful, and way better than I expected for someone who usually keeps it simple with the toppings. The bun broke down a bit from all the toppings, but that was to be expected with all the toppings loaded on there. You can't beat the location, it's right outside the Ilikai by the lagoon though the service alone makes this an easy five stars. I'm really happy this ended up being one of my last food experiences living in Hawaii. I'd be eager to see John and his staff again if I return.

We knew we were only going to get one hotdog just to try it out. When we were ready to put in our order, I placed it in with the male worker. As I was saying my order to the worker, my boyfriend had walked away to the side to wait for me. When I finished putting in my order, the worker had asked me if it would have been just one or two hotdogs. I answered him by saying yes just one. Which he then responded by saying, "what, would he rather have a pho?" Clearly seeing my boyfriend was Asian, that was his question for us just getting one hotdog. He said it as if it was funny. I left it alone and waited for the order. I just don't get the point of him having to say that. He didn't even pronounce "pho" right either, he pronounced it as "foe." As for the hotdog itself, it is good. It is on the pricier side of $11 for one but for the price you get with the bun, polish sausage and toppings, it made it for it. Lower stars because of the overall impression.

The coconut shrimp is outta this world. Coated with breading with flakes of coconut, the crispy, crunchy exterior is so satisfying to bite into and unveils the juicy shrimp underneath. I loved the sauces it came with too -- it paired so well with the shrimp. The angry shrimp plate comes with two scoops of furikake rice and a small side salad. Whatever is in the salad dressing is seriously addictive and the angry shrimp is wonderful when paired with the rice. The sauce made me want two more scoops of white rice. During my boyfriend's transaction, he didn't realize it was cashless, and the employee, Mitchel T, repeatedly pressured him to put his cash in the tip jar - mentioning things like a ski trip and family to convince him to hand the cash over as tip. It quickly became uncomfortable. When picking up our first order (2 platters, 2 drinks), the same employee asked if I could carry everything. I said I'd try, but instead of giving me the drinks, he handed me only the 2 platters and angrily sighed before setting the drinks back down. As I went back for the drinks, he instead handed me the remaining two platters. I turn to set those down and while doing so I guess he thought now I would be able to handle carrying 2 platters and 2 drinks. Because I didn't grab the drinks this second go around, the worker called me a "F***ING IDIOT." When I said, "that's rude," he doubled down - telling another customer I was an idiot because he was "busy" (there was only one person in line). My boyfriend calmly tried to address it, but the employee refused, completely ignored him, and continued glaring at us as we left. Other customers also expressed how rudely treated they were at this location. We spent nearly $100 to be treated with hostility. Completely unacceptable.
