It the day after Christmas. We put an order online at 11:30am to pick up at 3:00 pm. I got to the area around 2:35, so I decided to also pick up some Vietnamese food 5 businesses down the suites. Got my order from there within 15 min and then proceeded to Nicks. Walked in at 2:58 pm and asked for my order. They had no clue who I was, until 4 min later they found my order and said, "Sorry, it will take 20 minutes. We couldn't find your order." I said I have family waiting and they shrugged and said sorry, "We'll put your order at the top of the list." Meanwhile, sitting there, the cooks in the back were yelling and cussing about their activities. We have gone here for years. It seems like the place is run by teenagers. Walked in, and if you are going to dine, in you walk right past salad bar. Waited to be seated....decided to seat ourselves because it didn't seem like we caught anyones attention. We sanitized our own table, got our own menus, and waited for waiter. Only one waitress who was also answering the phones and assisting walk in orders. Got our pizza and cut into it and found raw dough. Looked a a couple of other pieces and they too were raw. When the waitress came over to ask us if everything was ok, I stated the pizza wasn't cooked well enough. She gave us the explanation that the sauce made the dough that way. REALLY? Shen then asked if we wanted it to go back and be cooked longer. REALLY? I get it that she was the only working waiter and when I went to checkout she took two calls before assisting me. One call she got was a difficult one and took a while! My visitors were in the car sending text messages are you ok? Poor management! Poor customer service! And Pizza was created very poorly! Placed order through Slice for delivery and Nick's calls me saying they don't have Nicks special pizza in a large, but they can do it in medium. Thought it was weird you can't make a large pizza so I figured maybe their pizzas are already made and they just cook it. I also asked her on the phone to go ahead and put light sauce on all of the pizzas because it didn't allow me to ask for it on the app. I tell the girl that's fine but what about the price and she tells me that she will contact Slice and tell them to lower the price of my pizza originally $23.95 to $17.95. I get the pizza it's cold and it's really not that great but I am mad because I just noticed the money taken out of my account was the original amount not with the discount. She also did not put light sauce which makes me once again think that they come frozen and they just cook them. Don't tell me your going to do something and then never do it! Shame I had this place about a year ago when I first moved to Apple valley and I can say this time around it tastes more like Pizza Hut pizza which is not what I was excited about this place for. Bring back the other guy Andy or you guys are doomed. read more

I recently tried Nick's Pizza and the experience was not pleasant. The food was okay but not good enough to make a special stop or go out of your way for it. Ordinary would be accurate. The payment system is a mess. It said in the Window you could pay through the their Slice app and get a small discount. I tried that and when I went in and it didn't work. So I ordered and went back in around twenty five minutes later. The person working there, I think it was an owner, assured me the charge on the Slice app would be removed and he had already taken it off. Apparently he was just appeasing me because I now have an extra charge on my card. $55 is not a small amount and I had to file a dispute to get it off. The Pizza shop is cluttered and meets minimum standards for cleanliness. I would recommend passing on this place when getting something to eat. read more

The pizza itself id give four stars but as far as the location itself it gets 3. It's too hot to enjoy a meal in there. Management definitely needs to get the ac fixed. i feel bad for the poor workers. Its 100 degrees plus outside and the workers have to bake pizza in ovens with no ac running table to table trying not to sweat on people's orders. Andy is no longer the owner, and Patty who says she's the owner, is very rude on the phone. I ordered a Nick's Special. When my husband arrived with it, it was missing the peppers, onions, and all the stuff that comes with it. It looked like a mushroom pizza. I had company and that was part of our meal. I apologized to them. I sent Patty a picture of it. She immediately became defensive. I explained that I didn't want credit or a refund, just to let her know what her employees are doing. The pizza is average to all California pizza here in the high dez. That doesn't say much I know. The salads are pretty good. The people that work at the counter are friendly and polite. My order was delivered to the neighbors and they purposely accepted and kept our food. They refunded my money and I went and picked up the new order I paid for. They offered to give it to us for free- but I didn't think that was right. Be thankful if you have good neighbors that don't like to lie and steal. read more

Nick's Pizza ll used to be the best pizza in the high desert. We've been coming here since we moved to AV 3 years ago. We initially felt super lucky we had found the amazing pizza place 3 miles from our house. A few months ago we noticed a HUGE change with the pizza quality. We figured that maybe they just had an off night. Sadly, the pizza is NOT what it used to be. We always order the same pizza, an XL Nick's special. The crust is now kinda bland and flavorless. The crust used to be super fantastic. They use much less sauce and other ingredients.. This isn't a cheap pizza and the value just isn't there anymore. This is sad because the people there are nice and service is always good. But, that's not enough of a reason to eat there. Food quality must be great as well. Bye! read more

The way the Manager responded to it when my wife brought it up to them means it must be a super normal thing for them. When she pointed towards the employees she saw doing it a male came out of the back and charged towards my wife screaming, cussing, and waving his hands as if he was going to strike her. The manager jumped between them screaming to the man to get back and go back to work. When I asked for the man's name, she said she wouldn't give it to me, she said she would write him up, but he's been working there so long that he's practically a manager and nothing would happen to him. Their pizza IS good and it's only $8.99 including drink, and I like that they have bean sprouts and beets on the salad bar, but that's about the only good thing I can say.. I grew up in the high desert and we always drove by this place, but I never actually tried it until a few weeks ago. I can see why it seems like a hometown pride for Apple Valley. It's been open since the 1970s (and the décor seems the same, but I love that) and the walls are lined with faded sports team photos of smiling, toothless kids who are probably older than me and with their own kids by now. You'll forget the sketchy-looking people hanging out at the Laundromat next door once you taste the pizza and salad. Just lock your car, then you can forget. The salad bar is delicious and stocked with tons of fresh, quality ingredients to DIY yourself a mean salad. The pizza is made with fresh, housemade dough, deep-dish style. I tried the Hawaiian and the Veggie and both were phenomenal, loaded with toppings and gooey cheese. Nick's is very family-friendly with sports on TV, arcade games, and old-fashioned service. I didn't order any, but pitchers of beer are cheap....pints are only $2! The only think I didn't like is that they don't reserve areas for large groups. We came with a huge group for a rehearsal dinner, hoping to use the back room, but had to wait and jump on empty tables as they cleared out. I wish they had a designated event space. This place reminds me of John's Pizza on 7th street, for all of you old-schoolers, and wish it was still open. Great local spot! read more

As I was walking in I felt like a little kid again, this place reminded me of the places my dad used to take me to when I was a kid. This is a real pizza place! The arcade games, coin machines for prices, the claw game, pitchers of beer... They have it all. The games will steal your kids money so you better have a lot of quarters. The waitress took 15 minutes to take our order and the kids were not happy about it. Once she noticed us she was great. The food was amazing! The salad was so big you can feed four men with it. I had to bring it home. The pizza had a ton of cheese and tasted wonderful. I asked for ranch and it was there quickly. We came here because my brother was starving and I had just gotten out of work on a Monday night. The place was clean, well decorated, and comfortable. They have a big screen TV for sporting events if you want to catch the game. Turns out I was here to catch a heart attack--a deliciously greasy heart attack. The pitchers are cheap, and they have decent selection of your standard beers. We went with two $6 half pitchers of shock top to make sure our arteries still delivered enough oxygen to our brains to walk out of the restauarant. My brother didn't even look at the menu before ordering some Nick sticks. I asked him if he wanted to order a pizza as well and he looked at me like a crazy person. We ordered a chicago inspired pizza to see how it compares to the real deal. When the sticks came out it was my turn to look at my brother like a craazy person. It was basically a large pizza with a ton of cheese, cut into sticks. If you're looking for sophistication, you might find it swimming in to tiny grease oasis floating atop your cheese stick. It was good, and the pizza finally came and it was great. It wasn't anything like chicago, but it was a great tasting deep dish pizza with an array of meats. I'll definitely be back. Overall I give this place a 4 stars with the potential for a five. I'll definitely try this place again with a different menu item. I went during lunch and service was friendly and quick. I ordered a small sized Nick's Special which is essentially a "supreme" style set if toppings. Overall I like this style however I'm not the hugest fan. I figured I give it a try. It was a good pizza overall. I would come back and try a simple pepperoni pizza as you can really notice the quality in crust, sauce, and cheese. Even with this style of pizza you can really taste the interplay of flavors. The cheese on this pizza was by far the hottest, steamiest, ooey gooiest cheese I've ever had. Don't know what they did but I pulled off a lot of the cheese but there was a still plenty on the pizza. Just fantastic. Additionally I ordered the garlic bread which was fairly average. I would likely pass on this next time. By and large this seems like a great place and i would try it again. read more

Placed an order for pick up of a Large Nicks Sticks and Large Pepperoni, Sausage pizza. When my husband went to take a bite of the Nicks Sticks, he bit into a nut (like a steel nut and bolt). Called to talk to the manager at Nicks Pizza and was told the manager was not there and she was in charge. I told her what I found in the Nicks Sticks and she said "Are you serious?" And asked to bring it down. Drove to Nicks Pizza and showed her the nut for her to tell me, "Where is the Nicks Sticks? I wanted you to bring them here". I then proceeded to tell her that my husband bit into the Nicks Sticks and the nut was in his mouth. I did not want a replacement. I wanted an apology of some sort of empathy, but all I got was attitude and sarcasm. We will never eat here again and will be notifying the Department of Health as it is obvious that things are not up to code here. read more

The customer service is not good the manager does not know how to talk to people or how to correct situations. I ordered wings and i only got 6 which is fine some places are like that but i got one flat which sucked. I tried them again and the food was cold AGAIN and not as good but still good. I asked for half flat for wings and they said i could have that. I've been going to Nick's since they were on outer 18. Last night we called in our usual small sausage pepperoni and were told 45 min. We got there 20 min later, and it was crazy busy. Our pizza wasn't ready, so we decided we'd have a beer. Even though they were busy, the girls were friendly, stopped, and got us a beer. Just then, the pizza showed up, so we figured we would have a slice and finish our beer. There was a table for two up by the counter. It was like a private table. Wow!!! I will never come here again. I came in today, I ordered my fires, fried zucchini, and a Nicks special pizza with Half pepperoni. The pizza had no flavor at all. But the worst thing of all is that the restarting was so darn hot. My family and I could even eat. We took most of it home. My family and I were sweating drastically. Super uncomfortable.
