I went and bought my usual three bottles that I get for my friend. A kind of pretty lady came up and said hi and I didn't know who she was she looked to be Greek; then she followed me out of the store and there was a short-haired grey lady there they said they both knew me and they had heard my name at the register so that they were calling me by name and I don't know if they thought I was senile or what but they were trying to get me to go in there car you know what gypsies are they seem like gypsies. read more

hammond indiana, hammond indiana, not lousiana. hammond, indiana. if you love a completely crazy old man sitting at the front door of a liqour shop ranting and raving, then come on in. the booze selection is plentiful and cheap. everytime me and the bf go to chicago from michigan we stop here to fill up on the necessary libations. the prices are amazing compared to michigan. last time i got a 1/2 gallon of three olives for 16 bucks. its just so cheap. although cheap, they also carry a very large assortment of liquors. i have found some interesting sale items each time. last visit i got 22oz sam adams gingerbread stouts on sale. its not a great neighborhood, but its safe. anyone traveling near should stop by to stock the bar. love, juston read more

Went today for some Bourbon County and as always for the past 3 years they always change there sales of the item. This year it was you have to buy 3 of the regular and get 2 of the variety Ones. Told the acting supervisor that the other Nicks location weren't doing the same so why is this location doing so. Instantly he had an attitude and said anybody else would jump all over this sale, I explained to him that this was my last stop and I already had 6 of the regular County's already. It was the only place that had Sapporo beer and decided to stop in to get it. Everyone seemed friendly until the cashier asked me for my ID in a not so friendly tone. I told her that I had already showed the other associate helping check ID's, so she said ok. Then, I noticed that the beer I was buying rang up for a different price when scanned. I told the cashier what the tag said and the male employee (I don't know if he was manager or what) standing in back of her heard us taking about it. I told him again that the tag said the a different price. He seemed to be getting irritated and acted as if I was lying about the price. He told an employee to go look what the tag and she said that it said the price I mentioned. He made her bring up the tag which showed the price I said it was and they changed it. They didn't even apologize to me about the situation. Even if the beer was in the wrong slot, they should have changed the price because it was their mistake (which it was not. They just didn't update the price tag). Its not like I was lying although they made it seem that way like I was doing something wrong. I will never go back to Nick's Liquor again because of this. read more

Been a regular customer here for 20 or more years. They have great prices. Just bought an 18 pack of MGD Cans and 18 pack of Coors light cans for 7.99 each. I know its cans but hey for that price and the recession we're in , I don't give a hoot cause I was gonna buy some cheap 30 pack can of miller high life lite cans anyways. Good prices on the hard stuff too and the beers are always pretty cold. He even has contests sometimes where you fill out slips with your name and number and put in a jug and you could win a trip, kool stuff like a Bike, portable grills and other stuff. Grant it that they have logos like Miller on Bud or whatever sponsor is giving it to him to promote, but who cares right? I actually won a nice rod and reel sponsored by Dorel cigarretes and it had Dorell logos on it but it worked great! read more

I drove 40 minutes from Chicago to pick up some Yuengling from Nick's for the 4th of July weekend since Yuengling is not available in Illinois. Everything online states that this location is open until midnight. I arrived at the store at 11:08pm and it was locked and the crew was cleaning up inside but would not let me in. The sign on the door says they close at 11. If you're going to be a reputable business please update your business hours online so you do not waste people's time. read more
