I recently called Pathway Insurance requesting a quote for my trucking company due to the fact that…read moremy current insurance company would be dropping me effective May 26, 2018 due to an accident caused by my previous driver that resulted in a large claim. My current agent Chris however, was still looking around trying to find me coverage. Mr. Jack Thomas informed me that he will be able to assist me but also advised me to not call any other insurance companies because it does not look good to the underwriters and I could possibly be blackballed by all insurance companies. He also advised that they work with an Insurance company called PRIME INSURANCE who they could get a quote for a person like myself who is considered high risk. I had informed Jack that I had called approximately 8 different insurance companies prior to calling him. However, days passed and it was getting closer to the deadline. My current agent Chris contacted me before Jack with a quote which was fairly reasonable from PRIME INSURANCE. A few days later I was contacted by Tara Obanion who also works for Pathway Insurance with a quote that was significantly more. It was obvious for me to go with the better deal. I paid my deposit to my current agent Chris and received my coverage for my business. From my understanding it's an Insurance agent's job to find you quotes for insurance and if you decide to go with the quote they offer that's a plus for them. However, if you decide to go with a quote from another agent it's your choice, you do not owe the other insurance agents who offered you quotes a dime. A few days later I started receiving the following messages via text from Jack Thomas and Tara Obanion simply because I decided to pay my money to my current agent for insurance coverage. I copied these messages from my phone and sent them to my email. In addition I called Jack after receiving these messages trying to gain an understanding of the matter. Jack simply stated to me "You are an un-ethical business owner. Do not call us ever again." and hung up the phone. ***** Hello, This is Tara from Pathway Insurance, I received a notice that another agent is taking over the hard work that I did to provide you an insurance quote. Can you please call me? Thank you! Tara 513-662-7000 *****Lashunda, My assistant Tara advised me that your former agent did an agent of record on a company we found and worked hard to get for you including an underwriting call we did with you plus the many questions we answered for you last week. (Prime Insurance) If your existing agent had this company in the 1st place why did they not present it to you initially? My guess is that they did not have the company until you told them who you were going with. We invested around 6 hours of employee time at $50 per hour. I would like you to reimburse us our time since we did all of the work without any of the benefit of compensation. Please send a check payable to Pathway Insurance in the amount of $300 to reimburse us for our time that was invested in helping your company stay afloat. It's obvious your agent did not have this company in the 1st place, yet we are responsible for your company remaining in business because we found this company for you, not your current agent. I will send you our mailing address in the next text. If you do not reimburse us for our time please do not contact us again in the future for quotes as we consider this a highly unethical business practice- We did all of the work and received no compensation for our efforts. Andy is an independent agent, and he's always been very friendly and helpful with any questions that I've had regarding my coverage. Insurance reviews are never an issue, and Andy is very good at making recommendations when appropriate -- including when changes are not needed. My coverage costs were better than I expected and the service is spectacular. I have recommended Andy to several people, and at least one switched to him.

I was in the market for term life insurance and getting quotes for auto insurance to compare to my current rates. I was really disappointed by how I was served. I asked for specific death benefits for my term life insurance quotes and was given quotes that didn't have the same death benefit that I requested. In regard to auto coverage, they asked for a few basic pieces of information about my car, how much I drive, etc. but didn't ask me specific questions that were needed in order to meet my needs in terms of the coverage I was looking for. For example, I drive a very old car and it's obvious that I don't need collision coverage, but all 5 auto quotes included collision coverage in the quote. Not to mention their auto quotes were above many other places I've seen. I received these quotes via email. I never went in person to their physical location. Worst of all, I was put in a group email with over a dozen other folks looking for insurance quotes. The lady who worked there asked us all in the group email who was still interested in insurance quotes and who wasn't interested anymore so she could update her email list. Again, a GROUP email from an insurance company!?! I was really excited about this company at first because they are Dave Ramsey endorsed, but I will never do business with them.

I gave them a call and let them know that I did not have much money to invest to begin with, (less than $3,000), that was in another account. I talked to Mark Howie. We agreed to a face to face meeting date. I was told up front that our first meeting I would not be purchasing a product until we have talked and went over several options and that I understood what I was buying. Right away I liked this and went hand in hand with Dave Ramsey's "heart of a teacher" discussion. I already knew that I wanted to open a Roth IRA. Mark went over many different mutual funds with me. He seemed genuinely interested in my financial goals and I never once felt pushed or pressured to buy or commit to anything. At the end of our meeting Mark gave me Dave Ramsey's book "Financial Peace" which was a very nice gesture but as I had already read the book I did not take it. This first meeting was in September 2015. Since then I have had nothing but excellent communication from Mark and everyone else at Stevens that I have encountered. They also offer tax and insurance services. I have not used those so can't speak on the quality. But on the retirement investing side of things, I have had a great experience.

From my mother who is a senior citizen: An employee from this State Farm office called the first of the week to say she wanted to come out and visit and go over the changes to my homeowners policy. I was elated that finally I was going to see and talk to a real live person. She called yesterday to say the owner told her it would be much easier to give me the info over the phone. The owner is the individual who made an appointment on two separate occasions in two different years to come and visit when I complained about never seeing anyone from the office and then having his secretary call me the day of the appointment and cancel. I told the girl who called yesterday that I was disappointed that she wouldn't be coming b/c it was really important to me to go over the info with someone face to face and a phone conversation wasn't acceptable when I've been a good customer for over 6 years, have always paid my premiums on time, and have never filed a claim. She suggested I visit their office. I told her I was the customer and I wasn't going to drive to her office when I needed answers. I mentioned the two previous cancellations I received when an agent made arrangements to come and visit only to receive a call from a staff member a few hours before they were to be at my home. I told her that clearly the distance between their office and my home was a problem and I therefore planned to find an agent/agency nearer my home.
