In November of 2013, our family learned we were moving from Dallas, Texas to the Los Angeles area…read more I was very nervous about the move and had great concerns about whether we could find a home that we could afford and still be near good schools and a reasonable distance to work. I found a listing of Deirdre's on Trulia, made contact, and she called me. A few weeks later, she and Terry met me and my family in Los Angeles and showed us the different neighborhoods where we could find a new home. They assuaged our fears about such big move (we have three kiddos) and helped get us excited about the move. They were patient and stayed in constant contact and answered all of our questions. Deirdre helped us navigate the very fast LA Real Estate market and gave us invaluable advice on how to bid for and win a house. We looked at many houses and made several trips between Texas and California. We finally found the perfect house and closed in May 2014. Terry looked after the house while we were moving our family and furniture cross country and took pictures and videos and kept us updated. Our house is, hands down, our DREAM HOME, and we never would have secured it without Deirdre's expert assistance. Deirdre is an absolute treasure and I highly recommend her and Terry for their expertise and kind, supportive, and informative approach to real estate in Southern California.

This review has been long overdue, but definitely well deserved…read more After waiting a number of years for LA real estate market to cool down (which it never did), combined with a few unsuccessful bid attempts with other realtors we were found in a time sensitive situation where we had to leave our current condo rental because the owner was selling. After scanning Yelp.com and meeting with several realtors, cue in Roland Wilhelm. After reading his Yelp reviews and Facebook page we decided to give him a call. He promptly called us back and we set up an appt to meet with the trifecta of realtors: Roland Wilhelm, Candace Gunther, and Alex Ford. Each offered their unique, valuable insight and services with one solitary goal in mind: To get you a home, at the right price. Did they deliver? They sure did. Perusing Zillow I came across a property that had a lot of potential. Roland and his team got right on it offering valuable insight, advice, and more importantly support. Coincidentally this would be our first home purchase so to say it was nerve-racking was an understatement. Through it all, Roland and his team was there, giving us sound advice, unfettered support, and always giving us free reign to decide yes or no, because ultimately it would be our home and nobody else's. And here we are, a couple months later, sitting on our oversized Crate and Barrel sofa in our comfortable home thinking why didn't we do this sooner. It was not so much as what they said or promised that sold us (although they delivered on their promises and some), it was the patience and deliberation they employed to understand our needs that sealed our decision. Roland and Candace were professional yet personable, knowledgeable without being "slick". They always gave us timely and incisive advice while never being aggressive or pushy. When complications arose, they handled them with great aplomb and resolved the matters swiftly. Not only were they instrumental in securing our new property, they also negotiated a nice savings on our purchase. When it came to selling our old home, Roland and Candace did not miss a beat in getting everything ready. We received multiple offers on the second day of listing! Now, the strong Southern Cal market didn't hurt, but credit where credit's due when we received 14 offers, and a final sale price that was 10% over asking. Just as in many professions nowadays, online tools and deeply discounted alternatives are abundant. But technology can never replace an experienced professional, and low-cost providers are likely incapable of navigating the nuances and complexities that come with real estate transactions. Identify your own needs, interview the team and see if these consummate professionals would match them. We are more than glad we did.

We have been working with another credit union and another agent for over half a year before making the switch. Jay, Lucas, and Allison has made the buying process as smooth and easy as possible, considering the challenge of buying during the pandemic and the insane seller's market. We toured about a dozen homes with Lucas over a few months and made 3 offers before eventually winning our current home. Lucas was always available and early to every single meeting. We tried to get there 10-15 minutes before him and he still beat us to the house. On one occasion, he was about 1.5hr away and still was able to meet us at a house on short notice (and he was early of course). He was in constant communication with listing agents/us and never made us feel like we were wasting his time. He was not pushy at all but did try to provide us with insight on each house and the offer situation in order for us to make a decision. I recall once we had made an offer after hours around 9 or 10pm and Lucas/Jay had signed it within minutes and sent it over to the listing agent. I admit I was skeptical at first being referred to an agent versus selecting my own but I'm glad we went with First Team/Homearly.
