Barely open six weeks, this new antique store was a welcome surprise after expecting to find the previous occupant - homewares and candles of an overpoweringly twee nature. Nice Old Stuff is a great improvement, I'm still trying to work out where on earth I'd fit the farmhouse table they had in the window with the most gorgeous worn, textured surface.
Walking in, you're surrounded by antiques and collectables, as well as a few contemporary items that I personally found less appealing, but all are displayed with flair and interest. An antique tin hipbath sits atop a table, old fishing reels jostle with vintage kitchenalia, the creepy uranium-green of Depression glass glows next to beautiful woodwork.
The staff were chatty and eager to help, obviously excited by the recent opening. There's soap you can pick up for a few dollars right through to an amazing antique railway cupboard for considerably more. A great place to browse and they do restorations and repairs as well.
