What a fantastic way to begin our four-day visit to NYC. If I could give 10 stars, I would! Ian was an absolute delight and full of local knowledge. We made 7 stops, and each one was delicious. From artichoke pizza to Belgian Fries to Falafel and everything in between, it was perfect. My only suggestion is to skip the second pizza stop and add something different from the others. I was the oldest person on the tour with six others, and Ian was cognizant of my walking constraints and accommodated me accordingly. He also was very aware of my garlic allergy and made sure I wasn't exposed to any during these tastings. I HIGHLY recommend you take this tour. My friends and I took the lower east side food tour with Nice Guy Tours in June 2023 and I could not recommend it enough. Dante was absolutely amazing. Super knowledgeable about the neighborhood and was able to tell us so much history about both the area and the food we were eating. We met at Katz's Deli which was also our first stop on the tour and had the most delicious pastrami of my life. We then stopped at several other places -- Vanessa's for dumplings, Kossar's for bialys, the Pickle Guys, Economy Candy, Russ and Daughters, and Doughnut Plant. You truly get your moneys worth with all of the food samplings and all of the store owners really enjoyed seeing Dante! A big reason we booked this specific food tour is because on their website it said it was good for dairy free people and they were right! Our friend has a dairy free diet and Dante was able to accommodate her at every stop. It was awesome and this is truly unique which I'm sure you understand if you have a dietary restriction! Emmeline was both informative and entertaining and the places that she took us to were delicious! Absolutely amazing food/neighborhood tour. Our guide was very knowledgeable of the area and the food choices were amazing! My favorite item-Pomme Frites, crispy and light and the variety of dipping sauces were a great addition. The food offered were large enough portions that you are indeed full by the end of the tour. I took the Greenwich Village tour and it was about 3 hours and worth every minute. I had a question prior to the tour date and Dante was quick to respond. The website is user friendly and the FAQs page is very helpful. You will need transposition to and from the meeting site, the cost of the tour includes food and a bottle of water. Be sure to let them know of any food allergies and/or intolerances, they will try to accommodate you as best as possible. I'd take the tour again in a heartbeat and back to back! That's just how amazing and delicious everything was. They have two neighborhood offerings so be sure to choose the one that will meet your needs. Amazing food was expected (Expectations were exceeded! Best pizza I've ever had), but the real highlight of the tour was Dante, the tour guide. He was incredibly warm and very witty. He dropped historical knowledge as we walked the streets (the narrowest building in NYC was awesome), in addition to stories and information about the food places (the proper way to cook a bagel, 40 dipping sauces for french fries!!) Dante also made sure that the group wasn't just a bunch of strangers, prompting interaction between the 10 other people (having a smaller sized group also was a plus). We made great bonds with a couple from Australia, a mother and her grown son, and some visiting Canadians. My girlfriend demands that we take Nice Guy's food tour of the Lower East Side the next time we visit NYC, and I couldn't be happier about that! read more

My wife and I booked this tour in advance of our trip to NY. We had looked at a number of similar tours online and decided on Dante's. Right from the first moment we met him, it was awesome. He was super friendly and just a really nice guy...the kind of guy you would be lucky to have as a friend. And the food...OMG! Everything was awesome but highlights were Katz's Deli, and the cream cheese at Kossar's, which were my favorites. We had a nice small group which was also a bonus because you felt like you got to know everyone in the group by the end of the trip. He immediately came into our meeting place (Molly's Cupcakes) full of energy (maybe too much before I had my coffee-kidding) and excitement!! Adam was a great tour guide and kept us moving, laughing, and comfortable on our rainy day trek through our stops. Dante is a one man operation and he is GOOD at what he does. He had a great balance of food, walking, and tid bits of New York history that made the tour not only delicious, but educational. He's super friendly, made everyone feel comfortable quickly, and was very knowledgeable. We had samples at each of the establishments - 1/3 slice of artichoke pizza, 2 falafels, an order of fries to share, 1/4 everything bagel with cream cheese, 1/2 slice of margarita pizza, a rice ball, and a cupcake for dessert. He took us to some of the most amazing and unique food places I've ever eaten at and I walked away with a FULL stomach. He was so accommodating to our group and even stopped at some of the places we wanted to go into (outside of the tour schedule) along the way!
