Urban Valet Dry Cleaners

After looking at reviews of several businesses we found they all seemed to be written by the same person....no details just "they were great." Remembering that Urban Valet provides cleaning services for the annual prom gown give away, we decided to try them out. The staff was very friendly and helpful as my wife explained exactly what was needed. In addition to the cleaning, her gown needed to be altered slightly. Staff explained the process and fully reviewed her requirements. The items were promised to be ready by the next Wednesday. On Wednesday we arrived and everything was ready as promised. Both gowns were beautifully prepared and well covered to ensure they could be easily transported. My daughter's gown had a jeweled waist which is not easy to clean but was perfect. I was more than pleasantly surprised when it came time to pay. For a wedding gown, an evening gown with alterations and a man's two piece suit with tie the cost was less than $100.00! I don't know about other locations but the Hamburg site has a very unique feature. In addition to walk in service they offer Drive Through service as well. I have never experienced such a service at a cleaners but intend to use it in the future. If you ever need cleaning and/or alteration services for everyday or unique items, choosing Urban Valet is the right choice and they will not disappoint.

Today, the parts, service and repair people who were in the back have expanded to the entire facility and are keeping up the tradition of excellence. My 19-year-old dishwasher finally wore out. Me, being "thrifty" aka "cheap" priced a new one at Best Buy, Lowes and Home Depot before heading here. Each of them had a model to fit my requirements (24 inch stainless steel front and tub) on sale. None had the one I wanted on display or in stock. I would have to order and wait. Only Lowes had someone in the store who knew how to find a dishwasher in their system without getting help. The appliance department in Best Buy looks like someone went through and shoved everything into a pile. I saved the best store till last. The dishwasher I wanted was on display in the front of the store. The knowledgeable salesperson knew the price and answered my questions. Within a minute I knew the price here was better than any of the big box prices. I ordered my dishwasher on the spot. It was in stock, delivered, and installed at the date and time promised. Bravo!

We didn't even realize they sold appliances but when our old washer broke we called the owner, Mike, and he professionally told us that it wouldn't be worth repairing such old equipment. We bought a new washer and dryer pair from him at very competitive prices and they were just installed by two young men (Alex and Christian) who were excellent. Efficient, helpful and polite. Will definitely buy future appliances from them.

He asked if I could wait two weeks as he wasn't certain he had the correct materials. Turns out he pulled off both pairs in two weeks and the service requested was completed with a high degree of quality. The value of having it done local is much better than shipping the boots back to the manufacture for warranty repair as well. I wear my boots everyday and walk a lot so it was important to me that the service requested was done correctly and quickly. He was able to accomplish the job on both.

BUYING NEW SHOES IS FOR SUCKERS…read more Why on Earth would anyone throw out a pair of old shoes because the soles had worn when the Village Cobbler can fix them for you for dirt cheap, and possibly even improve them? I brought in a pair of Merrill hiking boots I use for work. I love these boots. They're comfortable, lightweight and have a Gore-Tex liner in them. I have had them for years, and the soles where run down so thin that everywhere I walked you'd swear I was walking on banana peels. Village Cobbler was able to removed the stock soles and installed for me -- get this -- rocket power boot soles that allow me to fly around like Iron Man. Ok, they don't sell rocket powered boot soles, unfortunately, but I did get Vibram soles installed for $50. Not a bad deal, right? More importantly, they look and feel great. I was so impressed with the work that I immediately dropped off another pair of boots for another re-sole job. I plan to drop off a third when there finished as well. So, for now I will scratch the rocket boots and stick with the Vibrams.... At least until my FAA license for rocket boots gets approved, and I can afford to pay off the loan on my coffin.

I was asked to have someone be there 30 minutes before the movers were scheduled to be there. I had queried whether to have the movers would like to utilize a basement bay or the front door. I was assured that the movers would prefer to utilize the front door. The movers had a 2 hour window and they never made it to the office in that time frame. They called 20 minutes after the window and said they would be there in 15 minutes. 45 minutes after the 2 hour window they called back saying that they were at the basement bay. I informed them that I was told that they would prefer the front door. It was not until 60 minutes after the 2 hour window that they made it to the office. It took them 15 minutes to move the truck from the back of the building to the front. They were pleasant enough. They moved the items to where they needed to go. I am not impressed that after all the communication there was time lost and more expense for us because of the lack of clarity between Mike and his movers. It cost me approximately $50 because of their lack of communication

I live Alden Lancaster area, the first time I went through the phone book calling different shops, I was impressed when I called them and talked to Kevin. This gentleman was honest and up front about what could be wrong. They repaired my 2000 caravan cylinder head that overheated, jump a head a few years car ran great but was in accident. So then got a 2005 grand caravan had a few problems talked with Kevin again his great staff fixed both heads car is still running with324,000miles and going strong . Then I had to repair broken exhaust studs on my 1984 rv I took it apart they extracted all the broken studs retapped checked to make sure not warped and pressure check , rv still running great. I have taken my 2.3l turbo head in with bent valves, I got it back and installed and it jump time same day I reinstalled. They were so concerned they were calling to tell me ways how and what to check before total tare down. Unfortunately had to dare down and have some of the valves replaced. They were so nice they even apologized for what they had to charge me. I completely understood it was not there fault car jumped time it was a fluke They gave me a lot advise on what I should change from there professional staff, I have since purchased what they advised to also replace. A very professional young man Shane even spent much time going over the reinstall because he had done his 2.3l mazda rebuild. I find this shop so loyal and trust worthy I will send anyone I know to there shop, Thank you again for everything, (JR) James Hammerling
