We came here for the 6-course house menu, which will keep you there for a very pleasant three hours. The food was good, rich, and portions sized to made sure you wouldn't leave hungry. All taken together, it was relatively heavy food without too many sides that I should probably not have eaten directly before heading home and going to bed... oh well... Loved some of their dishes - particularly the lamb chops - while others were just ok (e.g. the fried duck was overdone and not too refined). Overall, fair value for the price and a good experience if you want to sample some authentic Chinese cuisine while always staying on the 'safe side' for a Western palate. read more

Since I normally don't enjoy the kind of Chinese food you get served throughout Germany (keywords: heartburn or glutamate) this place here is a positive exception. Starting off with the amazing cleanliness of tablecloth and furniture: No sauce spots or spilt soy sauce like one is often used to. Besides staff here are friendly and stunningly quick. Their menu consists of different (regional) Chinese specialities, however, prepared differently. Maybe in an affectionate way - or just made with real expertise. Prawns, fish, meat and veg all just close to being perfect: veg being al dente, the meat tender, the seabream crispy and the sauces very well/naturally flavoured. The food is different from the usual Chinese stuff in 2 ways: the creative recipes and the meals' way of presentation. Beautiful! And if you are into the crazy-shaped, carved carrots that suddenly have turned into swans, a pagoda or a whatever bird then this is paradise for you. So prices are obvisouly quite a bit higher than the Chinese take-away's around the corner but it's definitely worth the way over to this spacious restaurant. Recommended! read more

We went here on a recommendation from a friend and we were not disappointed. We were greeted and looked after by very friendly and knowledgeable staff from our arrival to our departure. A lovely bowl of spicy krupuk crackers was a tasty appetiser followed by a whole steamed perch (Rotbarsch) with a light orange and ginger sauce, cooked to perfection and served with boiled rice. All very reasonably priced in a stylish, modern restaurant. read more

Been there once due to the many recommendations and was really dissappointed. Bad service: slow, uncoordinated, sloppy Food was average at its best I have to admit that we were a crowd of 12 people which is always a little tricky for the chef - but we ordered a table in advance - therefore it should not have been a surprise. Overall: Not worth the trip to Wandsbek at all. read more

Main dishes are tasty and authentic in Ni Hao restaurant! The same applies for the start but due to the small size, there are heavily overprice. Hence, better go with some friends and order a few main courses. The day we visited the restaurant, the service was not particularly attentive even though it was not much business going on. When we ordered Oolong Tea, we got served something else and after complaining they top-up another Oolong tea bag For such a good Chinese restaurant, I would expect the same for the tea: having big pots with tea leaves, reasonably priced and refills of hot water free of charge. read more

We went there after our friend invited us without checking the reviews even. The Interior I must…read moresay is not very inviting but the nice service indemnifies it. The eat-all-you-can buffet is only reasonable option there. The food...well...the stuff which was made earlier was mostly covered with soy sauce or very dry. It was not very fresh. There was also raw meat and see food to take and be grilled in few minutes. And this was the only eatable food there. Not a great experience.

She said no problem and handed me 2 menus. She said the lunch menu has English but the other menu was only written in Chinese. Uh oh... Lol I told her I couldn't read Chinese and just asked her for her recommendations. We ended up ordering the roast duck, gai lan (Chinese broccoli) in garlic sauce and bbq pork fried rice. It didn't take too long for the order to be ready and the total came out to be about 40 € for everything. We got back home quickly and started to dig in. Omg, everything tastes delicious! I haven't had good Chinese food since I've been to Germany and so these dishes made me miss Chinese food back at home! The duck was so good. Although a little hard to eat with the bones but hey the bones add flavor! The bbq pork fried rice was delicious and adding the gai lan and the garlic sauce from the gai land made the rice so much more flavorful! I would definitely order take out from them again. I saw they have a dim sum menu so I am interested in trying that as well. Highly recommend this place for great and authentic Chinese food. Yum!

Eigentlich steh ich nicht auf asiatisches, chinesisches, thailändisches, usw. Essen. Aber als mir ins Ohr geflüsstert wurde "der beste Chinese Hamburgs" war ich natürlich auch neugirig. So gingen wir hin und wurden freundlich empfangen. Bestellten Getränke und blickten in die Speisekarten und vorallem auf die Preise. Diese vertrieben auch meinen Hunger. So mit 15 Euro pro Hauptspeise muss man wohl rechnen. Da viel die Vorspeise aber sowas von weg! Die Getränke bekamen wir zügig und auch auf das Essen mussten wir nicht lange warten. Als wir fragten ob wir den Milchkaffee noch bekämen, den wir eigenlich vor dem Essen trinken wollten, bekamen wir jedoch nur einen schrägen Blick und ein "Nächstes mal." zu hören! Wie bitte? Nächstes mal? Okay die Rechnung zahlen wir dann auch nächstes mal!??! Dennoch, das Essen war der Hammer. Es sah super aus. Ich hatte eine komplette halbe Ananas als "Schüssel" wo die Soße, Fleisch und Gemüse drin war. Reis gabs extra in ein paar Schüsseln für alle. Ja und zum Abschlus gabs dann warme Tücher zum Hände sauber machen. Fand ich auch gut. Hingehen werd ich wohl trotzdem ehr nicht wieder. Hier haben wir mit vier Personen vor noch nicht allzu langer Zeit einen schönen Sonntagnachmittag verbracht. Das Lokal ist schlicht und schön eingerichtet ohne viel asiatischen Schnick Schnack. Das Personal war sehr höflich und behielten die Nerven, nach der, gefühlten 20 ten Änderung, in der Bestellung meiner Freundin. Das Essen war ein Traum, frisch schmackhaft und toll angerichtet. Jedoch ist es recht voll, dadurch ein bißchen lauter. Einen Tisch sollte man schon reservieren da das Lokal zumindest am Wochenende immer gut besucht ist. read more

ich finde der Laden ist nicht besonderes,hauptsache schön teuer ! beim jeden Gericht kostet durchschnitt 2 EUR mehr als die konkurentz und die getränke sind erst recht teuer ! eine Fl. Selter kostet 6,20 EUR , echt Hals schneider und service kann ich nur 2 Sterne geben ,dass Essen finde ich auch auf dem Niveau eines Imbisses,auf Deutsch gesagt,wenn Ihr das Geld los werden möchte, dann könntet ihr das Geld aus dem Fenster schmeißen oder bei Nihao geben... read more

Wir waren gestern das erste mal im NI HAO und waren total begeistert. Haben einen tollen Tisch bekommen, das Personal war sehr freundlich und die Atmosphäre sehr schön. Es ist wirklich wie ein kleiner Hofstaat, der sich liebevoll um den Gast kümmert. Solch eine Gastfreundlichkeit habe ich in einem Restaurant schon lange nicht mehr erlebt. Die Pekingente ist der Hammer :D Bin wirklich sehr zurfrieden und kann nichts bemängeln. Und übrigens: Ich habe einen super Tipp für diejenigen, die bei ihrem Lieblingsrestaurant auch nie jemanden an das Telefon bekommen. Sehr leckeres Essen! Das Gemüse zu meinem Huhn war super frisch und nicht verkocht sondern schön knackig! Zur Mittagszeit in der Woche ist es nicht so voll, so das man sich problemlos einen Tisch aussuchen kann und zeitnah sein essen bekommt.
