She could've just told me the truth no public restrooms but why if it's a church do you deny access to a restroom? It's a church house of God, right?

Our daughter is almost 5 years of age and she loves going to church. They have great Praise and Worship for children and my daughter knows all the songs they sing by heart. There are always tons of ministry outreaches and events going on there. If you only go to church on Sunday, you are missing 95% of what's happening there. I would highly recommend that if you live in Eastern Jackson County and are looking for a church or maybe you need to re-connect with God, then you check out this amazing church. The people are super friendly and will make you feel welcome and like family right away.

Everyone seems involved and we have made friends rather easily. The pastor knows everyone and is a good preacher, lives his faith and teaches bible study. He is a great encourager of your faith and starting new ministries. He makes sure you are doing well within the congregation. His wife is a great asset to the church as well. The Church is beautiful with warm wood and nice stained glass windows. I liked the warmth of the congregation. After the service, we were immediately welcomed by several people. During the sharing of the peace, the priest made an effort to welcome most, if not all, of the congregants and after the service recognized that we were new to the community. He invited us to sign the guest book and to stay for coffee hour and to meet some of the congregants. Several people came up to us during coffee hour and introduced themselves and seemed to take a genuine interest in us as well. It was great meeting other people who relocated to Kansas City from other parts of the country. The coffee hour was held in the lobby and it was a bit crowded for the number of people, but all-in-all it seemed to work out OK. Music was emphasized during the service. Music was used to present the psalm as well as parts of the liturgy. The homily was delivered by a guest, so I'm not sure how it compares to what is typically delivered in this church. The guest was a self-described radical, liberal theologian. The service lasted just over an hour - we spent an hour and a half at the church, including the coffee hour. We're going to continue exploring the area, but I thought the Church of the Good Shepherd was a wonderful option.

He does not back away from the tough subjects or questions but invites them so that we as Christians can grow stronger in our faith and our relationship with God. I look forward to service every Sunday because I feel renewed and closer to My Lord when I leave. This is a larger congregation but more so then any other church I have gone to they make reaching out and giving opportunities for inclusion a priority.

Village is one of the 'Flagship' churches in the PCUSA. I was just there today for a Presbytery…read moreEvent "Embracing Hope" and it was an excellent venue for this event. Worship in the sanctuary was excellent. The Keynote in the Fellowship Hall was well attended, and the breakout workshop rooms all had adequate space. Village, being a BIG church (some would say a church it's size is a micro denomination onto its self) has a chef on staff. The chef and kitchen staff fed our group well and the quality of food was excellent. I go to a lot of events at Village and they are engaged in the larger community as well as the life of Heartland Presbytery. The Grief Support Network holds it's monthly meetings and it's annual conference at Village. Village provides a relaxed environment (and good coffee that is always ready) and the tech facilities that are needed for small conferences and events. This is a church that I look to to provide for me spiritual support as a pastor that helps me do my ministry with my congregation in the community. Their Village University has brought in speakers like Marcus Borg and Tony Campolo. I am glad that Village's ministry touches it's members and the Presbytery and the larger community.

I went to that church for many years to come. Even got married in his church. This man has fought off the demon in ways that would blow your mind. He's strong. Hes a fighter. Hes a wonderful husband father and Pastor. I would encourage anyone in the area to go to some of his sermons. I watch his sermons on line now since i moved. My whole family went to that church and some still do. The Lord works through his people and if we are still and listen that's when we are blessed. Keep prayin, reading and go to church. We chose this church for a variety of reasons. First, there are a lot of young families like our own (there are actually a lot of very active members of all ages), and social groups for those young parents. Second, this church does not preach hate or intolerance, and its doors are open to everyone. Third, the services are liturgical and traditional, which appeals to my Catholic upbringing. It would make a nice church home for anyone who is seeking out a place.
