I needed a box to secure a couple of paintings for shipping across the US. The PO did not have any…read moreboxes that would work. The dimensions were 16x20x1. All they had was a huge box. So they recommended I check out uhaul. I went to this UHaul and the manager, Steve Fine searched for a box that would fit these dimensions or at least come close! Not finding anything he took what was close and cut it to size. Wow! What service. This was entirely his idea and it worked perfectly. And then he used some of his extra strong tape to secure it even further. I was honestly pretty blown away. He also gave me the extra tape from the roll in case I needed it with the other half of the box. He only charged me for the price of the box. It's this kind of service that is so wonderful to have.

I've rented a few U-Hauls from them over the years, always had a pleasant experience. However, this post is not about my storage/rental equipment experience. I needed a moving blanket. That's all, a single moving blanket for a home project. I knew this was going to be an issue, figuring they only sell packs of 3, 4, 5, etc. (if they sold them at all.) Driving down 19, I saw Tropicana U-Haul/Mini Sorage and thought, "It's a shot in the dark, but perhaps they sell them." I swung in and told the gentleman (I wish I got his name) behind the counter of my dilemma. He paused for sec and said, "I'll be right back." Moments later, he returned with a single moving blanket and said "Here you are. Free of charge." Wow. POINT OF MY STORY: He did a simple favor which solved my unique problem, saved me upwards of $100, saved me a headache and lastly blew me away with his genuine kindness. Now I am a loyal customer who is eager to promote their business. It's amazing how a simple gesture of humility can change a person's day. In this story, I'm that person. Never store your stuff at this place! I have literally been sitting at the gate for 2 hours and…read morehave been denied access because their gate doesn't work even though they told me just yesterday that there would never be a problem getting in or out of this property. They charged me extra money to guarantee my 24-hour access . I was told that one of the managers lives on site and walks the property all night long . That is clearly a lie. The managers apartment door is open . He has a speaker blasting loud obnoxious music and every light is on inside the apartment with the door wide open . I called for someone to come out . No answer I walked to the door and knocked on the door yelled inside for assistance no one answered. As it turns out there was no one there at all . So I still sit here waiting for someone to eventually show up and let me into the property that I paid for . This place is garbage! Don't waste your money .

I found out quickly that the City of Oldsmar does not allow storage facilities to rent trucks. I'm not sure who on Oldsmar's city council got screwed by U-Haul, but if Americans can fly to Cuba now, it might be time to let it go! This business could make so much more money on rentals. But none of this official city business was going to stop Barbara. She logged into her system and remotely accessed the nearest U-Haul location with trucks and booked my reservation like a pro. When I arrived a week later to the Hillaborough location, everything was good to go. The process was seamless. I also got a bundle of small boxes. I have a massive record collection, and these boxes are ideal for moving them. The boxes cost about $1 a piece, but Barbara was sure to let me know that if I bought 25, I'd get a discount. I love a bargan and 25 come to a bundle, so it worked out great! I won't go anywhere else for my U-Haul reservations.

We did get there just before closing and the staff worked with us efficiently. Vit was the one who helped us! He was great, explained everything to us perfectly. We also grabbed a lock, blankets and some of the green wrap they had there. We were in and out within 10 minutes. This location seems very big, they sell all kinds of packing accessories inside, such as boxes, blankets, straps, ropes, locks, wraps and a lot more. Prices were normal, not expensive. Actually I checked if Home Depot sold some of the things we needed and at this uhaul location it was cheaper by a few bucks.

I scheduled an appointment, The manager, Rachel called me back to let me know they could not install the electrical, only the hitch. I had to cancel since I need the hitch to be legal for towing, When I asked if they could do the job with electrical pigtail on my wife's Ford Escape the manager said yes and gave me a price. I agreed and set up an appointment (2 weeks) to get the correct parts. Today we brought the truck in at 7am. at 8:15 I receive a call from the installer telling me he can't do the electrical. Since I was desperate to have the hitch installed due to our scheduled move I told her to do it. VERY UNHAPPY WITH THIS UHAUL!!! Tried to put a review on their site, impossible! Javon, the branch manager and his staff are professional, friendly, always greet you with a smile and most importantly, they deal with you first. They are always striving to be better than what they already are by asking what can they do to be better next time and it's not a robotic question, they REALLY want to know. I have been to other rental places and other Enterprise locations and they all could learn something from the staff at this location. Picked up a car Friday that has undeniable bodily fluids in it. I spoke to 2 different customer…read moreservice reps via online chat. One said someone would call in 24hrs (no one has) another told me to drive to the Tyrone location and swap it out( I left work early to find a sign that said closed for the day). I then drove to another location and they seemed to not really care. I then called a number I found online filing another complaint, but here I am still driving around in a car that literally has someone's hazardous waste in it.
