(access is garnered via the alleyway just to the left of Arthur John Hardware). He's a busy man! The fact that he's got such a hefty backlog of work is probably the best advert for his business that he could have... but if you need something repairing / restoring in a jiffy, then it's unlikely that he'd be able to respond perhaps as quickly as you would like. Access to his workshop couldn't be easier, and so dropping off the odd family heirloom to be restored isn't an issue. You can drive up the back road and park up next to the cycle shop and drop off large items if required. Adam is an amiable chap, and a hard worker. You won't be disappointed if you are able to wait a few days for the results of his labours!

Using a mix of traditional and modern techniques and materials they restore tired furniture to its former glory or even better! Lush. I used to help my mam do up old furniture. I quite liked it. If I ever have spare time on my hands again, and my own nice big house and fat bank account, I'd probably get back into it again. Nothing like giving a tough chest (of drawers) a good rubbing down. For now, I think I'll leave it to the experts. Revived sources antique and vintage furniture: dining chairs, chaise longues, armchairs, wingback armchairs, bedroom chairs, nursing chairs, sofas, stools etc, which are then stripped back to the framework, the frame is made good again, painted or treated and then completely reupholstered and covered in contemporary fabrics to make it all sexy and new. Unprepossessing from the outside unless you are a fan of industrial architecture but once through the doors it's glorious fabrics galore. There are sections of dressmaking fabric, including patterns, lots and lots of upholstery fabric, strange fluorescent furry stuff for making strange fluorescent furry things (aliens?), sheer voiles for curtains and more more more! In my time I've been here to buy things to refurbish furniture, make fancy dress for the kids and our latest purchase is the complete kit for stitching our own ball gown - Vivienne Westwood is looking to her laurels!
