I judge a breakfast menu based on the chefs ability to poach an egg... Seriously, if you have to use a machine to do it then you need to evaluate your life choices, surely it's a prerequisite of any hospitality job. So with 2 rubbery machine poached eggs added to my Canadian breakfast I was bitterly disappointed.
The coffee was good the pancakes were slightly better than the eggs and I guess you can't really get bacon wrong.
My real issue, apart from the eggs was the wait staff not really looking like they wanted to be there. I get that it's a bakery and they probably they an early start but comparing whose love life is worse while one eats breakfast and the other does their hair front of house is hardly professional. Just get back there and poach my egg properly!!!
I am usually very generous with my stars... The 1 is for the coffee, the pancakes do deserve a half but seeing as that isn't an option I'll leave it off because if it is your job, you'll make them well.. They were good - not great. read more
