My first time at Metlife was back in 2019 for BTS, and I recently came back... for BTS again…read more There's multiple ways of getting to the stadium - by NJ transit train, bus, car, or parking nearby at the American Dream mall and walking there. I took the NJ transit this time and it was pretty chaotic but highly preferred over a bus or having to find parking there. They adopted the system where you needed a wristband to use the train, but it wasn't a good system for the people that didn't take the train to get there (alot of people went early using other methods for merch or for VIP entry). They should have trains run earlier next time, not starting at 4-5pm. Or have a clear area to get wristbands at the end of the event - there was no clear signage for people and they were confused and blocking the people that already had wristbands and were trying to get to the trains. Metlife itself is a pretty cool stadium, I like that it has an open top because we got amazing fireworks during and at the end of the show - something that some other stadiums couldn't get! Fairly easy to find your seating, and it doesn't feel as far from the stage as some other stadiums when you're sitting in the 100s. We were also thankfully allowed to enter through any gate, instead of just the one mentioned on the ticket. The food wasn't anything spectacular and could be way better for the prices they're selling at. Chicken tenders tasted like elementary school cafeteria food and the pretzel braid was dry.

I am familiar with Crosby Street because of De Vera's, Opening Ceremony, WeWork [previous office space where my LLC was for about a year], as well as the fondly remembered Dunderdon [we miss you!] My first impression is a well-appointed / well organized space. My second thought went to the sincere & genuine event coordinators. Even though the EventBrite page prevented me from getting a ticket RSVP, the coordinators personally called me to encourage me to attend anyway. They went out of their way to make room for my wheelchair, put me near one of the core members of the group [in case I had questions], & event went so far as to get me a cold soda to use in lieu of an ice pack! I will definitely look to attend more events & bring more of my art here to have the members take a look & give me feedback!

Running and Beer! What a perfect combination!…read more Their motto at the finish line proclaims "Because Running Is Better With Beer At The Finish Line", and it's so very very true! I had the pleasure to run this 5K race last year and had a blast. Even though it was a hot day in September, and I was a sweaty mess at the end, being able to run smack dab into a beer festival more than helped ease my pain. Made all the sweat worth it for the unlimited suds and good time! Mmmmm.......Beeeeer. Nice cold tasty craft beer. I'm running this 5K again tomorrow and happy they moved it to late October as the weather forecast is perfection with sunny skies and temps in the low 70's with little humidity. (Big props to Yelp for the hookup with comp registrations) As with last year's event they have described it pretty much the same - "Start with a stretch and run (or walk!) the scenic course through Randall's Island with all the foliage you can handle and waterfront views of the NYC skyline. Once you finish the 5K, it's time to party! As soon as you cross the finish line, unlimited tastings from 15+ local craft breweries will be waiting for you to indulge. We'll also have live music, lawn games, picnic area, photobooth, and some amazing food vendors in attendance for you to enjoy with your beers. Every runner will receive a finisher medal and gift as they cross the finish line with the top 3 men and women receiving special merch packages to take home." I felt it was a very well-run and organized event. There were a good amount of runners but no too many to make it a burden to run. The festival area was centrally located and pretty easy to try out the beers. Live band playing and plenty of space to mix and mingle, or find a spot on the grass under some shade to chill out and enjoy your brew. Of course, there are porta-potties for those to use (yeah, those can sometimes be a real adventure). Event was open to runners and non-runners, as is this year. The finisher medal and ribbon it was attached to was very nice. So was the tasting glass we received which was shaped like a full sized beer can with the Brew Hop logo on it. Very cool. My only qualms were that there were not enough food offerings for the amount of people here, and I wish they had more beer vendors to choose from. Some lines got a bit long, but at least they moved well. More food trucks would have been nice with some diversity. The beer vendors on hand were a solid group representing craft breweries from the NY area. Something for every runners palate. Even some cider and hard seltzers to try. Overall, a nifty event to participate in, especially if you like to mix in your fitness with some partying good times. Cold beer always helps soothe the pain after a good run. Mmmmm.......Beeeeer!

SO MUCH BEER!!! I…read moredidn't run. Let's just make that clear from the get go. But if you just want to go and support a runner, there's plenty for you to enjoy.... Beer! Lots and lots of beer. The race isn't timed so it's not all that competitive, though one woman did run herself into vomiting. Take it easy lady! Runners get a nice medal upon crossing the finish line. Don't be that couple who didn't run but snagged two medals. Cheaters! As you may know, I don't have too many beers that I like. If you're the same, don't let that stop you. Citizen Cider was in attendance and tasty. My favorite by far was SpikedSeltzer's Hard Seltzer. The Cape Cod Cranberry was the best of the four offered. At 5% ABV, it's sneaky because you can't taste the alcohol at all. They also had the best swag! Bucket hats, tees, temp tattoos, and stickers galore. There were about 15 different vendors offering up to two beers each. Unlimited pours. The lines moved quickly so towards the end of the event people were nicely toasted. I have video. There were a couple of food trucks. Bareburger and Gorilla Grilled Cheese. The Gorilla line looked like they were giving it away. The line never quit. I guess melty cheese on buttery bread is the best way to recover from a race. There was a DJ that did better with Old School Hip Hop than anything else. Plenty of porta-potties. Inflatable seating... most hilarious to watch people rolling of them as they started to deflate. Plenty of shade. Geese. Great water views. It was a lovely day for a race or just to sit and drink beer with friends. Next year maybe I'll be in some kind of shape to run this thing!

Since the venue is much more smaller, there's more signal and there aren't long as lines to do to do the photo booth or do recreational activities! Highlights of this years gov ball: -the Bacardi boat - Bacardi mixed drinks, free food, and music! I hate Bacardi but I love free sheet! And the Bacardi people are seriously the nicest people! -photo opportunities- so many photo places everywhere - ranging from the gov ball sign to different photo booths and the iconic Statue of Liberty head. - and of course THE STROKES and THE KILLERS. Wish they had more shaded areas to prepare for the rain and that the audio was better at the big apple stage, but over all this is still one of my favorite festivals as its not aggressive as the other ones!
