I ended up with a whole new outfit for the Wearable Art Awards and felt pretty good about how I looked. The clothes are all second hand but high quality, mostly NZ labels. The sales lady went out of her way to pick things that she thought looked good and steer me away from any unflattering choices. I'm tempted to go back today for another fix. That WAS fun!

This branch of the 'red shed', situated right by Wellington Airport, is MASSIVE - you can easily get lost! As for its products - well, take your chances! It's a parallel import heaven! They buy their stuff in bulk at discounted prices - and you never really know what you're going to find. One day you might come across an exercycle, the next some fishing tackle or cleaning detergent. It's truly random - and a lot of it isn't the best quality known to humanity - but at least you can get a refund if it breaks in the alloted timeframe! They also produce their own brand of clothing and sell loads of mainstream CDs and DVDs, games and toys at cheap prices. Their motto is where everyone gets a bargain - and even if you don't come out the door with what you bargained for, you can guarantee that you'll find something - even if it's random junk you never needed in the first place! Occasionally you really will pick up a useful bargain though.
