After a long and frustrating experience involving a failed hard drive, attempted data recovery, two dud replacement HD's from Newegg, I took my custom build computer to Best Buy and told them to install the HD and my OS. This cost me $200. I also asked them to look into my non-functioning ethernet port--their response was that it was a failing motherboard and they would have to send it off for another 3 weeks--and couldn't give me an estimate on price. Fed up and by now without a computer for 6 months, I decided on New Orleans Technology Services. They had some good ratings and a great location. I dropped it off right at closing time and Cameron said he'd run some diagnostics on the motherboard and call me by noon the next day. At the stroke of noon, he called and told me that my BIOS settings were screwed up by some overclocking which had also disabled the ethernet port (which begs the question...who overclocked my computer?). He had already fixed the settings, made sure it was running, and I could come and pick up the computer any time. For no charge. This is the hallmark of a really excellent business. I can tell you that if I have any future problems with my computer (and don't we always?) I will definitely be taking it in to NOTS. The only unfortunate thing is that I work 8:30 to 5:30, so the only way to take my baby in for repairs is to take time off work. If only they had some slightly later evening hours, or maybe a few hours on Saturday! read more

Just had a great experience with New Orleans Technology Services. My laptop had died and important data was lost. For a flat fee of $200, they retrieved over 5,500 files. They were friendly, professional and had me out the door in less than 24 hours with all the files installed on my new computer. I would recommend them to anyone who needs expert tech help. Not the typical computer repair shop. It doesn't look like much from the outside but inside its very nice, clean and uncluttered. The staff (all young guys of course) we're very friendly and all had great advise on website design. I never felt any pressure to buy or sign-up for anything. Very cool place.
