A church that…read moreclaims to serve the community shouldn't pay the person at the top significantly more than what most of its residents make. The rest of the pastoral staff is inexperienced, untrained, and lacks formal education. Affairs have even taken place between staff members. Preaching revolves around the lie that God determined everything that happens in your life before you were even born. This means that your choices and experiences aren't really yours, and you have no real control over your life. Church beliefs are also anti-gay, anti-women, and pro-Republican. Men run this church. Women cannot read the Bible out loud in the presence of men, and are only allowed to hold leadership roles over other women and children. Also, the demographics of this church are overwhelmingly white. It does not represent Rosamond at-large, which is concerning as a "community" church. If their monstrosity of a building wasn't visible from everywhere, you wouldn't even know this church existed. Wayside Chapel simply doesn't care about Rosamond...just money to keep the multi-million dollar building in operation. Feel free to visit and see for yourself. You'll come to the same conclusion I did: Rosamond deserves better.

The Church is involved in the local community, which is important to me. It's a smaller Church community and the people are friendly - it's easy to get to know people and become involved. The Pastors and staff are great! I love the Sunday School before Worship. All in all, it's a cozy place... a "homey" place!
