The New Inn is a likeable if unspectacular pub in the city centre of Buxton, right next to the the Market Place bus stops. It is owned by the Robinsons brewery, famous for their old ale "Old Tom", which you should give a try if you like dark real ales. The pub is smaller than the outside seems to suggest, and there is a room to the back that is usually more quiet, especially when sports are on TV in the bar area, which was the case when I visited it in February of 2018. The beer selection is decent, including several hand-pumped real ales. There is also a small outside seating area, but it's right next to a fairly busy street.
"Cask Marque" pubs are few and far between in Buxton, so the New Inn is a solid option for real ale drinkers, especially those waiting for their bus home. ;) read more
