I walked into New Hope on my own, looking for a way to control my drinking. I now realize I was powerless over alcohol. Morris and Yvonne are not just doing their jobs, they are sincerely invested in helping addicts and alcoholics get a new life. Even though I was a late middle alcoholic, my path was headed downhill with a possible divorce on the horizon. Now at 19 months sober, my life is worth living again. I went to New Hope for help, and I found it here. The couple that own it are sincere about helping people and very knowledgeable about addiction. They helped me when no one else could, including myself. I have been in recovery since the first day I stepped in there 5 years ago, and maintained sobriety since. These people are THIEVES! The worst kind of people out there! They will do whatever they can to get as much money as they can out of you! I went there for a drug and alcohol assessment and regretted it 4000 later for 9 weeks of IOP! I had got a DUI for alcohol which led me to get an assessment. When I got my assessment done I had THC in my system which gave Morris an easy opportunity to tell me that I didn't have a problem or an addiction I just need o take classes with them to learn about addiction! Not to mention in IOP he is an asshole to everyone and tells them how they are pieces of shit addicts and will lose everything we have if we continue to do what we have been...and I'm sitting there like most of us just smoke weed....so after I'm through with IOP and a bunch more bs they put me thru my probabtion officer tells me its ok to smoke weed just not drink......and of course when I told them I had the money to pay them off they discharged me right away. I would be VERY cautious when choosing New Hope Recovery. There are several choices in town and this place seems to accept any court mandated patients with open arms and committing anyone and everyone they can get their hands on. While they are certainly helping those in need, they are also pretty power and money hungry. I went for a second opinion somewhere else after meeting with Morris at New Hope and being diagnosed with a drinking problem and committed to a nine week treatment. It seemed to be a pretty common story that every single person who went in with a DUI came out with a nine week treatment plan and LOTS of money out of their pocket to the center. I went to the other center for a second opinion and they listened and diagnosed with a complete different demeanor. They decided I did NOT in fact need to go through treatment and listened to every facet without immediately marking me as an alcoholic. Just proceed with caution for those who need to go to an assessment for a DUI because they seem to already have their mind (and wallet) made before they even meet you. read more
