Once got to the Service area, saw it was next to a hotel which might be good if you are doing a long haul, and need to break somewhere for the night. BTW, the actual outside of the service had all these water fountains, which doesn't help if in a hurry to get to the loo. Inside, it was visible signage to loos and plenty of stalls. Bathrooms were clean so bonus points for that. Also lots of options for food and tons of seating options with charging stations. Two of our fellow travelers unfortunately got the over-cooked, dry & pathetically burnt chicken strips @ Burger King so would avoid getting food from then. Otherwise it was a good break! Stopped there last weekend and didn't do my usual quick pee and get a coffee at the service…read morestation. I needed food. So did my partner. He decided to have some fish and chips and went to queue to order one. I couldn't face that amount of fat so i decided to grab us some coffee and have a think. I ended up with a falafel salad from Starbucks. When i came back to my partner with our coffees and my salad, he was still waiting for his fish as they were cooking it from fresh. I started to have food envy on the spot. I went to a table strategically positioned near a tv were the rugby was shown, and waited for him. When he arrived (i didn't wait long), the fish in his plate wasn't big but gigantic!! I opened my salad and i was actually pleasantly surprised, it was tasteful and the sauce was on the side :) the fish and chips was apparently really nice, with the fish flaking perfectly and not too greasy. So it's a massive thumbs up for the food for this evening!

Last night we decided to investigate the source instead, and went in Tandoori Nights. It looks unassuming from the outside, but inside is nicely decorated and clean, with comfy sofas to wait on. We were promptly served, and ordered Chicken Korma+Nan, and Chicken Madras+Nan. The wait was short, and they had a TV showing Watchdog (and not overly loud). My Korma and Nan were excellent, the Madras was a bit more spicy than was expected (more a reflection on the expectations than the Tandoori Nighst though!)

They have fantastic food which is stunning value. On a Tues and Sun they have a happy meal which is a starter, popadom, naan, veggies, curry and rice all for £8 which is more than one person can eat. Their dishes are well prepared, they do care and they are fast. I highly recommend this place for everyone. One word of warning - I was not expecting the tandoori chicken to be sweet and in so much sauce so some of their dishes are a bit different :-)

This Gloucestershire based burger chain (of about four) aims to provide 'proper burgers' as an…read morealternative to McDonald's offerings. On the whole, they succeed. The patties are thicker, the buns taste more like bread and the salad is more plentiful and fresher. Sadly, the cheese is the same processed plastic squares that you find everywhere else. There is a sauce bar with a range of about eight different condiments which you add yourself after being served. Like most burger outlets, they also serve fries (which are more like chips and really quite average, although served in big portions) and a small selection of milkshakes, desserts, etc. The milkshakes are almost impractically thick and therefore worth a try if you're into that. Expect to pay approximately double what you would in McDonalds for an equivalent item (not equivalent quality, just the same foodstuff). Worth a try if you're looking fast food that's a bit less junky. This particularly branch does not have seating, although it does have tall tables at which you can stand to eat.
