That matched our experience perfectly. The tuition is steep - though financial aid is available! - but everything else was fantastic, and we were consistently impressed with the teachers, curriculum, field trips, awareness of kids as individuals, interaction with administration, and more. My mom worked for decades in early childhood education, and (as an interested and involved grandparent) was also very impressed. They welcomed/encouraged heavy parent involvement, from "come into the classroom to talk about something you're knowledgeable/passionate about" to occasional parent-meetups-over-coffee in the morning and more. But I was never, ever made to feel guilty about not being able to participate heavily, which was the norm once we had our second kid. (Who also went to LES for preschool, once old enough.) We can't speak to their K-8 experience, but for preschool/pre-K/TK they were fantastic.

The teachers are an outstanding group and attuned to the needs of each individual student. The administration is truly exceptional as they create an environment where parents, children and the school come together to form a nurturing and vibrant community.

My step son just did us this fundraiser for school. As parents who care we feel obligated to…read moreparticipate. The cost f value embarrassing. I will never do this fundraiser again and will recommend to other organizers as well to look for something better - good old fashioned candy bars even for $2 would be better. It is ridiculously expensive. not only are you paying $30 for 12 oz of popcorn or nuts, They then hit you with a service fee 1.74 and $9.99 in shipping which you don't see until the end. Not everyone especially elderly people want to or have the ability to do things online. I would have rather given the $40 to the school so they would get all the money. We had so many people refuse to do this fundraiser for that reason - if this is charity, why charge a service fee, really ! Then we don't even have an option to have the product delivered in one place and pick it up. Yes, it's convenient in this day and age but you are certainly paying for that connivance now without a choices. who pays $150 for popcorn ??? I'm in marketing and this product is so cheap to produce the mark up is close to 100%- again for Charity. Just disgusting and the product is not even worth that price! The nuts we got liked and tasted old. Try to support your kids another way go get your school to just take checks! I'd love up even know how much of that money the kids actually see!!! This organization should be ashamed of themselves taking advantage of family and char organizations! I was a girl scout troupe leader, a CCD teacher and a cheer Coach, I know about fundraising. This is not it. Try canning we did great at it!

As long-term parents of LMS, we cannot say enough good things about the school. Our children have…read morecompleted the preschool cycle, the three-year lower elementary cycle, and are now in upper elementary, and throughout the process, the highly qualified staff and teachers have consistently encouraged them to be independent in their learning. As someone who specializes in education, I recognize the importance of self-motivation, and LMS has exceeded our expectations in promoting this for our children. The academic breadth and depth of learning at LMS have surpassed our expectations. Although some may worry that the "freedom" in learning styles may lead to falling behind, LMS has a packed, comprehensive, and individualized curriculum that is tailored to the needs and skills of each child. Additionally, standardized testing is introduced starting in fourth grade. The independence fostered at LMS, instead of being a constraint, I trust that it will benefit our children for a lifetime. In addition to the excellent academics, LMS also hosts numerous activities throughout the year to build a sense of community, including culture fest, ice cream socials, a 5k, book clubs, volunteering opportunities, farming, and many more. The children have had very few conflicts, if any, during our time at LMS, as the staff and teachers are conscientious and work closely with parents to address concerns as soon as they arise. Overall, we have been extremely satisfied with our experience at LMS and would highly recommend it to other families.

I graduated from CHCH almost 20 years ago, and I can honestly say I wouldn't be a social worker if…read moreit hadn't been for this school. I became much more aware of social injustices after attending CHCH and had teachers who were very socially aware. I walked into CHCH as an angry teen not expecting much. I not only raised my grades, but I started to get an idea of what my strengths actually were. The only downside is that there were a lot of very unmotivated students there at the time and there was an overall lack of respect for teachers. However, it seems like CHCH has made efforts to change this dynamic by becoming more selective on who they accept into the school- I know when I was there they were making efforts to change this, and it seems like they have. There also seems to be a much broader array of club offerings and academic opportunities which is great! Even though there was a lack of respect for teachers at the time and a lot of the students were unmotivated back then (though I don't think this is true now), as a neurodivergent teen, I did find it helpful to be around other neurodivergent teens at the time because it normalized neurodivergence for me. So that piece was helpful. They use the Multiple Intelligences Theory which is a great way to discover how you learn best. I have a lot of clients with ADHD and use Multiple Intelligences Theory in my practice. Clients love it! I think more schools should incorporate this theory, as it really would change the academic experience for a lot or students. Of course it was a typical high school with cliques and drama just like anywhere else. But overall, I'm glad I went here.

The faculty and administration are caring and genuine. The student body are positive and create a warm, tightly knit community. I was on the fence about public vs private school and have two older kids who did well in our public system. For my youngest, this school has been a game changer and was one of my best parenting decisions.
