My surgeon said they did not correctly rehabilitate me and sent me to University of Kentucky physical therapy at Turfland. Night and day! I get individualized, one on one hands on care at University of Kentucky. At Kort I was one of 3 or 4 patients to 1 therapist and many times they would go off the floor to do assessments on new patients! No help, no massage, no stretching, no watching form. If you don't want your recovery as a priority then go to Kort. Otherwise go to a more ethical location.

Used this KORT location last year after being referred by the Orthopedic office next door. I'd used…read moreanother location for some other issues with an ankle but wanted to stay close to the doctors office so they could communicate. Unlike prior experience, the office manager asked for various amounts of co-pays, sometimes $100, sometimes upwards of $250. It felt odd that they didn't let the insurance do it's thing first. In the meantime I sought out better treatment with an independent PT professional who would actually spend the entire appointment time with me and addressing my injury. At KORT Fountain, I would see the therapist for maybe 10 minutes of the session as she was working with upwards of three clients at a time, it's why I ended up leaving and just sticking with the other therapist. Fast-forward a year and now they bill me $22.21 for what? I'd rather take the hit on the credit score than pay them or a collection agency. Seek out a group like PT Pro's or Hidden Strength in Lexington if you want something more than the "Super Clips" of PT.

When I began with KORT, I had trouble feeling my feet and was having trouble with falling and/or slipping often--recently coming off a sprain after slipping out of my SUV. After a six-week set of sessions, I have regained strength and feeling in my hands and fingers, as well as in my feet. I'm steady and able to climb stairs again and feel my feet as I'm using steps and stairs. I highly recommend them for post-cancer therapy.

They push you (without killing you!) & always listen to your needs and concerns regarding your therapy needs. They demonstrate all the exercises that you need to do, while explaining how it helps you and what areas of the body that particular exercise is focused on. If there is an exercise that makes you feel very uncomfortable, they will find another one that focuses on the same area that you are more comfortable with. Don't get me wrong, they are tough because their job is to get you healthy again, but they well never push you past your physical limits. My therapist is Stephen & I recommend him highly. The only thing I don't like about this place is the physical location. It is very convenient to my home, but there is no private parking or a handicapped space close to the entrance. There is a parking garage and they will validate your stay so there is no cost to you, but if you are having difficulty walking (like I am), it would be more convenient if there was a closer spot. Other than that, they are equipped to handle all of your therapy needs & I would definitely recommend them!
