Just brought my two cats in for the first time for checkups and some non-emergency issues yesterday. It was super easy to get an appointment and the staff were wonderful! I've previously encountered vets who are condescending or dismissive but the staff here were super warm, helpful and knowledgeable, shared information in a positive way, and clearly care a great deal about animals and people. Vet visits are categorically expensive, but they were transparent about costs and found ways to reduce the bill where they could which I appreciated (gave me a discount on the exam fee and only charged me one biohazard disposal fee since I brought the cats together). Between calling animal control and trying to figure out next steps, it was a stressful situation. I called New All Creatures Veterinary Hospital and they told me to come in right away since it was a high-priority emergency. The staff worked with me on different treatment options, explained everything clearly, and were incredibly kind throughout the whole process. I brought my pitbull puppy in for shots and an exam. She was scared and shivering. The staff was wonderful. Some owned pits themselves and knew how sweet and loving they can be. They were so kind, getting down on the floor with her to soothe and reassure her. Then when the vet came in for the exam, he got down on the floor with her too and was very gentle during the exam. I brought her in yesterday for her booster and noticed a lantern on the corner of the reception desk. On the side of it was written that if the lamp was lit it meant someone was saying goodbye to their pet and asked the other patrons to be mindful and keep the noise down out of respect for their grief. I thought that was such a warm and supportive touch. It reflects the whole tone of that office. They're not just focused on helping the pet but helping and supporting the pet's owner too. They also don't hesitate to say things as they are without the carefully worded "liability," type verbiage I get with most other vets. The see a problem and they fix it. This reminds me how vets were 10-15 years ago. Additionally, they are not trying to sell you expensive testing, etc. Also, one of the very best things is their availability. Same day, next day...even open on weekends. They are off the main roads, so to speak, but it's worth taking your business to them. Staff were all polite and kind to both me and my cat Danny, the Dr. was very knowledgeable and was not pushing excess services on me and gave me options which I appreciate. I brought my dog in specifically for pus in the urine, expecting evaluation and treatment for a likely urinary tract infection. The initial estimate provided was $350. After the exam, the bill had increased to approximately $700 -- before performing a urine culture and sensitivity, which was quoted as an additional $300. While the staff was polite and professional, I was troubled by how quickly the visit escalated to bloodwork, three-view X-rays, IV fluids ($65), and discussions of possible tumors or surgery before confirming the most likely diagnosis. The focus seemed to shift toward expensive worst-case scenarios rather than first addressing the presenting complaint. Ultimately, my dog was prescribed antibiotics for a UTI -- which was the reason for the visit. I understand the importance of thorough medicine, but there should be clearer distinction between essential diagnostics and optional add-ons, especially when costs are doubling without clear justification. I left feeling that the diagnostic approach was financially aggressive and not well aligned with the initial concern. WARNING: My kitten died after spay here. New All Creatures tied BOTH of her ureters (where pee goes from kidneys to bladder) into the tissue by her ovaries during a spay, according to the Sage Vet Hospital ultrasound.I took her back in to New All Creatures the day after her spay because she was lethargic and unable to pee the day after surgery, and the vet at New All Creatures said she was ok. Actually, she was in acute kidney failure by the time I took her to Sage that night. Even UC Davis vet said they couldn't save her. She was perfectly healthy when I took her in. Botched surgery killed her. read more

I took my senior (almost 15 year old) Chihuahua here for what I thought was really a respiratory issue. The vets tested her and found she had elevated liver and kidney levels. I am so grateful they did this testing because I believe it saved her life. I have read on the internet how serious liver and kidney issues are for animals, and they will eventually die if left untreated. I was willing to spend to get to the bottom of these health issues and I am glad I did. It is expensive; however, I believe New All Creatures is less expensive than some of those corporate owned chain vet hospitals. I also felt all my questions were properly answered and I had a lot of them!! The front desk staff is wonderful and kind. The vet techs are amazing -- I witnessed first hand the compassion they showed to the animals. One dog was coming out of anesthesia, and the vet tech was hands on comforting the dog. Also, I don't know if she wants her name mentioned, but M the vet tech was so kind and patient with me! I am certain I looked upset, stressed out, worried, and yes, I did burst out in tears at one point when I heard my pup had these issues. M provided a warmth and comforting presence throughout. I will go to this hospital going forward anytime my pup needs care. I get the personal experience and excellent care that I am seeking for my dog. read more

I took two cats to get their teeth cleaned and one got one tooth removed and the other got. 4 teeth removed. I am afraid I was not a good caretaker for them. However they are now home. Their remaining teeth are nice and clean and I will do better in the future. the vet techs and the vet are very kind and caring. I was very happy with the short I wasted to have the vet check out the one cat time and the speedy return of my pets with medication and clear instructions of how to care for them and what adverse effect(so far none) to watch for. They are open 7 days a week currently and I was very happy to have them care for my kitties I do not have any pictures to post but the vet tech and./r vet are welcome to post any they may have of my kitties. read more

Our dog was badly hurt in a dog attack while we were out of the country and our boarder took him to New All Creatures, which was the decision that saved his life. Over the course of a week, the staff and vets did great work stabilizing and checking in on our dog. Dr. G gave incredible follow up care and surgery when needed, and Shyla helped get our dog to his overnight practice for additional care. When we took him to his follow up appointment, it was clear how much the staff cared about his wellbeing and were willing to work with him despite his reactivity and fear of the vet. I had my dog get an Xray in this vet as she was limping in the right leg, Xray result says LEFT HIP DISLOCATION, discharge summary also says she was complaining of left leg pain???! And was told a surgery is the next step (was not thoroughly explained to us), we were in doubt so we send our dog to ER in San Rafael, Xray results there says its RIGHT HIP DISLOCATION, as it should, thats our issue from the beginning its the RIGHT limb, NO ONE DESERVE that traumatic experience, if we did not send our dog to ER, she would get operated in the wrong leg. read more

First time going to this Vet. I brought a feral cat in on Monday without an appointment. He was in bad shape. They were very caring. Had to end up putting him to sleep. SAD. Then I had to bring in his brother three days later for an unrelated problem. Again, without an appointment. They treated him immediately with excellent care. The vet I usually use wanted me to make an appointment. Both these cats were in pretty bad shape and I can't afford to go to an emergency room. So thankful they were able to see both cats. Dr G did a nice job in diagnosing the problem in my 9 year old tuxedo cat named Mayhem. He even quickly diagnosed another problem that has been going on forever and previous vets would not prescribe for the problem (life long, every single day constipation). Dr G diagnosed both issues, made quick decisions about what to do, and my mayhem made a quick recovery and the constipation is being addressed and I know this issue will finally be resolved as well.
