And it's bigger and has more selection than the location on Halmtorvet to the east. Here you'll find everything you'd expect from a grocery store with a reasonable amount of variety. Plus there are additional things like home goods and sporting goods. They even have bikes for sale. Now I don't know why you'd want to buy a bike from a supermarket, but you can! We bought a lot of groceries here and also at Netto during our trip. Some prices at Netto are slightly better, but SuperBrugsen also has some marked down items. So they're more or less equivalent overall. Either way, if you want to save some money and not be eating out every meal, there's no shortage of supermarkets and smaller grocery stores around Vesterbro to choose from!

Personally I like, that they have a lot of organic products, they change their discounted items weekly and I had never problem about quality of my purchase. This store is organized, clean and seems everything fresh. Even there was a lots of people in the time I was shopping, no big lines in front of cash register. I came for some essentials (milk, snacks, smoked salmon, haha) and it was ridiculously cheap. Smoked salmon was only 5DKK (about $.80USD). What?! Milk and other things were cheap as well, about 5-7DKK for a liter. Wouldn't come here for the shopping experience- it's low-lit and there was only one register open. For you Americans that visit: best to pay in cash as their credit card machines need a PIN, which, even if it's a debit card, won't be accepted there and most other grocery stores.

Yes, it is more expensive than the other stores but the goods you get are much higher quality. The selection is enormous and the atmosphere is really inviting to shop. They have two small racks of British and American goods as well, like you can get vanilla or cherry flavored cokes if you are really into that kind of stuff. They carry turkeys (from France) the day before thanksgiving. My favorite part is their charcuterie section. So many different delicacies and all of them are super good. The olive bar is excellent and very reasonably priced. And if you could not find the cheese you are looking for on their racks, the head of the cheese department will so kindly order it for you, they will call you the next day when it arrives and here you got it, top service! We had a small Tête de Moine drama recently, which was beautifully solved by the head of the cheese department :) Well, I love stopping at this Super Best and you can be sure to find there what you need.

Cheddar cheese (the real kind, might even qualify as "sharp"), and various other stinky french cheeses 5. Cofoco's Supermarché Frozen French onion soup, with real stock (for hangovers, try it) 6. Pecans, once a year, for pecan pie 7. Seafood (their fiskefrikadeller are awesome, as is the homemade remoulade) Best idea is to go here with cash in your pocket, otherwise, it's entirely possible to buy the whole store.

First of all, if you are an organic freak like me there are slim pickings. Especially in veggies and fruits as most of offers at hand are from remote (suspicious) places and you have no clue what chemicals they're pumped with. Secondly, this is a quite surprising place. In the 'dry' section I've managed to find organic spelt flour and spelt for cooking, gluten free pasta and a range of other specialities. In the milk sections, I've found not only soy milk (very common these days), but soy yogurt. I would still prefer to go to Irma any given day, but this is a much cheaper option and you can still find your basic foods here.
