Very glad I ignored that bad review and stopped by for a visit. Amazing store, good selection, great/friendly owner. The first thing you'll notice when you walk in the store is the DVD collection. They have a huge inventory. I'm not a big collector of DVD's so I can't really comment on the prices or selection. However, they have a ton, they are well organized, and I'm sure if you are looking for movies this would be a great place to come. I was really impressed with their collection of Board Games. I've always wanted to try some of the challenging games like The Settlers of Catan (which the store had an entire collection), but have always shied away because of the price (I'd hate to buy a game I know very little about and find out that I don't like them). Next time I'm in the store, I'll ask the owner about them and find out more information. I mainly checked out the store today for their Graphic Novels and Comics. I haven't collected in years and I just wanted to pick up a few good books for their stories. The owner helped me find the Walking Dead comics I wanted and pointed out some books he highly recommended. The store has a wall of "guaranteed" books, in which they'll buy the book back if you don't like them. In addition to that, they offer a buy 10 and get 1 free card. I only glanced quickly at their video games because I was in a hurry and had already spent a good amount of time talking to the owner. I like my games in mint condition with boxes and manuals. Most of the titles seemed to be loose carts (I'm talking about older stuff), so this might not be the best selection for hard-core collectors, but they had a large selection for people just interested in a good game. The best part of the store is the owner. You can always find collectables cheaper online (don't forget online stores don't have overhead like rent), but you come to places like this for the customer service. You can tell Jim loves what he does and is excited to share it with others. There's so much stuff out there to buy that it is really nice to have stores like Jimmyjams for suggestions. Great clean and organized store. I'll be back when I'm in town.

My friend and I spent the better part of an hour browsing for new reads and finding some great obscure books at reasonable price points. The staff is friendly, courteous and quite professional. I always take my niece and nephew and they enjoy the place. I highly recommend.

There's a TON of inventory in the back room waiting to be organized and put out, but I get that takes a while. It didn't feel the most shopper-ready yet. My brother found some things he was excited about, and I found a few unique books! The owner is so kind and has plans to do DND and game nights as well as music nights with all their space. 3 books was ~$40 so not the most affordable prices, but I'm not super tuned in with what comic books run. I think in a few more months the space will be more visitor-ready with more inventory available to look through!

We were happy to have Free Comic Book Day return this year. Mind's Eye was the only place we wanted…read moreto go and so we did. They are in a new location since our last visit (used to be in Eagan). Per usual, everyone was friendly and helpful. I found a Harriet Tubman comic that I didn't even know existed. I bought the two copies they had. Everything was well organized and easy to peruse both the free and paid comics they have. This space is much smaller than their previous location. Fortunately, everyone was masked, which made us feel more at ease. One of the things I really love about this place, in addition to the fact that it's POC owned, is that I can be an all-out geek and nerd without getting any side eye. Chatting with the staff is fun and I always learn something new. I don't follow the comic world closely, so getting an update and to see the excitement of the person talking is quite infectious. It's probably why I've yet to spend less than $40 when we go there. Whether it's FCBD or not, this is the play for comics, graphic novels, and all kinds of things that you'll not find anywhere else. Stop in!

In addition to books there are magazines, comic books, calendars, and puzzles. The owner is very nice and he's almost always the person working there. Like myself, he's a big history fan, and has given me several good suggestions when I've been looking for a new book. I would expect him to know a lot about books, but when I mention a title, he speaks about it like he's read it. He probably has. I've been buying books here for years. Typically I use Amazon to research titles and reviews, and then go to this store to buy it. It's rare that there isn't a copy on hand, and if not they will have it there quickly. These small bookstores are need to be supported.
