Food is absolutely garbage. First guys, there is this extraordinary ingredient "Chef's" (and I use that term loosely)used called salt, used to enhance the flavor of food. Second, try using freshly made mashed potatoes instead of institutional powdered potatoes...gross. Thirdly hire a prep guy to clean real green beans instead if the canned crap you offered me for my meal the other day. Its a disgrace to the flavorless bacon you put in it. read more

We go here for breakfast and lunch alot from my job. They recently started serving chicken & waffles, one of my favorites. They're great going down but not so good for my waistline but, you only live once, right ? They have great breakfast specials & the folks that work there are really nice. It's pretty much middle of the road in every regard. The service was quick and spot on, but there wasn't an attempt to be friendly or have any kind of brief conversation, just all business. The oldies ambiance was nice, but it didn't strike me as particularly special, and the crowd was the typical diner type, mostly middle aged to older people going about their day. I had the eggs Benedict, which I found to be pretty mundane, but not bad. The hollandaise sauce was bland and my hash browns were under-seasoned, but everything was cooked correctly. It only came out to $10.50, but I feel like I've had much better meals at other diners for less. read more

Always a great meal at a terrific price. No frills, just good food. The pulled pork platter was delicious and filling, serving was bigger than I expected. The sides are great, the potatoe salad and coleslaw were fresh and delicious. We are locals, and so is the owner, it is great to be able to support local businesses in the community. Disappointing, which is sad because the place is cute and the people are nice. Fries were the gross coated kind, not just regular potatoes. Turkey for sandwich is the semi-processed deli kind, not fresh roasted. Tuna sandwich was puny...not a nice full sandwich. Take out not advised because everything is packed in styrofoam, so it gets soggy. I'll try them for breakfast because they're very nice and local, and we all need to be generous amid the pandemic, but on this first try I was disappointed. It looks like most the reviews here are for breakfast. I probably should have checked that out first. I agree, wholeheartedly, however, with all the comments about the friendly staff. Small place doesn't look like much, wait staff was extremely friendly and worked as a team. Food was great, very fresh. Waitress made a mistake on my order and refused to let me pay for my meal. This morning was my first visit to Nelsons. I ordered the French Toast and asked if cinnamon could be sprinkled on it.......at that point my waitress offered me a shaker of cinnamon.........this is a GREAT thing. That way I could put the right amount on my toast after receiving it. I also asked for some peanut butter (yes, I like peanut butter on my French Toast).......which she brought me with my meal. ......so far so good..............then came the bill. She charged me $1.69 for the peanut butter............I was rather taken aback by this exorbitant price. The gentleman sitting next to me advised me to say something to the owner (who just happened to be chatting with some people behind me. He flagged him over and I explained the pricing...........he laughed and took the $1.69 off my bill saying that I should not have been charged for it in the first place. Thank you.........thank you.........thank you. Your kindness prompted me to write a review of not just how good the food was, but of you dealing with the misguided peanut butter pricing. Went here earlier today for the first time. They serve breakfast all day on the weekends which is what I believe a diner should do. I was very pleased to know that they have shit on shingles I love that it's one of my childhood favorites. We also had their peanut butter and banana toasted sandwich very good also another childhood favorite. My daughter had their grilled Reuben with she like a lot she said she has had better at the gem eatery in Margate, but it was very good. The atmosphere is diner like somewhat nostalgic what a diner should be not too big with too many seats it's smaller and Clank more personable for guests and staff the owner was on hand it at the time as well. Which is always a plus for me to see the owner at his business working. The food was pretty quick and it was good we would definitely come back. Especially for the SOS. Holy cow. My girlfriend and I went in yesterday to try this place out for the first time for breakfast. Coffee was pretty tasty according to her but the Memphis diner I believe it was not sure just know it had corn beef hash eggs and hash brown and good lord have mercy with in 3 minutes my food was out and it tasted delicious. Just what the world needs, another themed diner ala Johnny Rockets. All I had was breakfast. Once. But I was so ecstatic to find a diner near A1A and Atlantic open before 7am. I don't live in the area but visit family and generally stay at the same hotel on A1A. I could never find anything open before 7am, not that I made it my highest priority. I had settled on Cosmo's, even though they opened at 7, but breakfast was good, reasonably priced and the help was friendly.. I was disheartened to learn it closed. I looked around, and couldn't find anything open early and settled on Jukebox Diner on Atlantic only because it was the closest diner. Yuck. But yesterday I had an early plane flight and couldn't wait until 7. I could not believe how crowded Nelson's was at 6:15am. I guess other people like to eat early. I also could not believe there was only 1 server and no other help except in the back of house. It's hard to rave about eggs over easy and I won't. But they were definitely adequate unlike Jukebox, which were runny. The waitress was a champ refilling coffee and seemingly not missing a beat. And breakfast is probably the most difficult meal because people are always in a rush and demanding. I took a star away for not having more help and making me look at the kitshcy decorations, haha. I also didn't care for the hash browns. Why is their never a choice of potatoes in Florida diners? I guess I'm used to old fashioned Jersey diners. read more

Homey, warm and one of the most welcoming diners I've been to in south Florida. My aunt and uncle frequently eat here and I see why. The food is delicious ( I had the hunk of burning love burger with fries). The burger was spicy and the fries were crisp and full of flavor. Ate here several times always for breakfast. The food is typical dinner food. Last week we were in after not being there for a while. Not our server but another server came around to refill coffees one regular one decaf I asked her if I could get another water when she had a chance her response was " well as you can see my hands are full right now " in a nasty tone as she walked away from our table. My husband and I ate here this morning and it was a great experience! Being Father's Day we were prepared to wait. Got there at 8:45, were seated in a booth immediately and the servers were very quick and attentive. Waited about 8 minutes for our food and it all tasted great! On top of that, the prices are extremely reasonable. We're from California so having 2 full breakfasts with juice to drink for $15 total is kind of unheard of back home. BEST pancakes in Broward County--period--try them!!! They crack REAL eggs so ALL egg dishes are fresh and delicious! I love their fabulous egg white, spinach & feta omelet and they will make everything "dry" or without butter upon request!
