The bathrooms are very clean - just be warned, the toilet seats are ICE COLD. It's made up by the fact that the hot water in the sink actually works and heats up super fast. Plenty of space for outdoor games, there's a little trail you can walk, and there's a small creek running by the parking lot too. Cute little park to host an event!

If you arrive early, there's also street parking close to the gazebo, which looked like a popular spot for family gatherings and small get-togethers. I spent some time walking along the waterfront paths and exploring the docks and pier. If you're not a fan of heights or being over the water, parts of the dock might feel a little intimidating. The boards are older and somewhat uneven in places, but everything felt sturdy, safe, and added to the rustic charm of the park. The weathered wood and waterfront views make for a great aesthetic, especially if you enjoy photography. Another nice feature is the local businesses nearby. Whether you're looking to grab a beer, a coffee, or something to eat, everything is within a short walking distance. If you're visiting Silverdale and want a relaxing place to take photos, have a picnic, enjoy a family outing, or simply take a peaceful walk by the water, this park is definitely worth a stop. Be sure to check out the photos and videos we captured with our Fujifilm cameras they really showcase how beautiful this area can be.

Parking is bountiful, there's a dedicated lot, and failing that, ample street parking. The play structures were well-maintained. My kids had a great time, the other kids there were very friendly and welcoming. I'm glad we stopped by.

You can see everything from River otters, ducks, geese, and the occasional deer and rabbits on the trail. The park is also connected to the dog park so after your furry friends are done playing in the park, you can wear them out more on the trail. My only grip is that pet owners need to learn to take their poop bags all the way to the garbage instead of leaving them along the trail for others to take care of. Other than that, this is a great family trail!

The paved road is a tiny ribbon with edges that teeter off into the dirt - not gently sloped. City of Poulsbo Parks and Recreation department has liability here - waiting for the lawsuit shoe to drop. Once inside however, you can enjoy several nature interaction features, even nature solitude, while the children's playground has been revamped as of 2025. The park manages to fit in many things such as the following -- * A designed, interactive, children's educational garden managed by trained "Master Gardeners." Here, tons of produce are grown and donated for charitable food distribution. Imaginative and whimsical garden sculpture will draw surprise delights, and thoughtful plantings offer live lessons of ecology. * A "community garden" with multiple raised growing beds, where citizens rent a "patch" to grow their own fresh vegetables (and it has a compost pile in the back if you want to drop off your kitchen scraps). Rent includes gardening tools, watering hoses, and a generally well-run operation. * A skatepark, basketball courts, picnic shelter with multiple picnic tables for the community to hold events * A fun quirky children's playground with fun swings and slides * A view through the trees and downhill, of Poulsbo's downtown and harbor, flanked on the far horizon by the Olympic mountain range, an excellent place to watch a summer sunset. Sadly the park benches face in the opposite direction from this jaw-dropping view--back towards a worn walkway and old picnic table. The imagination of bureaucracies and their workmen of how people might behold nature and appreciate its grandeur is seriously impaired (such a view of the Olympic Mountain Range and they set up seats facing the opposite direction?!) * A few single-track foot trails into the woods around the perimeter of the flat, artificially planted lawn lead into wooded hillsides and offer shady nooks, rich with bird calls, to escape from the open hilltop monoculture of grass * The central flat expanse of monocultural grass is a horrendous ecological desert, a big zero--but fits the American settler desire aesthetic of claiming land into the wide horizon. (Beware the many entitled dog owners who run their pets without leashes on this wide open space, yet another City liability -- waiting to become a law suit.) This park is used by many people and is wonderful for people watching, while still having space for your own private experience of communing with nature.
