My boyfriend and I stumbled upon this cute Japanese cat themed cafe and were excited to try it out. It's a pretty cozy space especially if you're looking to catch up with friends. We decided to order the GyuDon and Chicken Teriyaki Sando. The GyuDon was a bit too saucy and wet for me. The rice was also a bit wet which was a bit off putting for me. I also thought it was super sweet. I would say the same for the chicken teriyaki sando. I really wanted to love it since it looked super tasty! I really enjoyed the fluffiness and softness of the bread which made me wish I got the Strawberry Sando. Neko Nook is still new and people love it. I came in at about 4 on a Saturday and there was no seating available initially. I ordered a strawberry matcha latte and an ube latte. The beverages took approximately 20 minutes to be made but by the time they were placed on the counter, seating had become available. The Strawberry matcha latte was better and had a good combination between all the flavors. The ube latte lacked the thickness and flavoring that I had expected. The decor inside is great with miniature spirited away settings around in the corners. A straw hat flag is hung up on one of the walls and the music being played is mellow anime themes. Words cannot express how excited I am to have a Japanese sando restaurant so close by! The interior is cozy with muted colors and adorable seating. They have Japanese sandwiches and snacks. The employees behind the counter were friendly. I got the teriyaki chicken sando and purple sweet potato fries paired with an Ube latte to go. They put a little cover on the latte (and an Americano) so they wouldn't spill. Genius. I do wish that the drinks had size options but that's a minor gripe. Everything was delicious and I'm looking forward to trying more. I wish I could taste the Ube more in my latte but that wouldn't stop me from getting it again. We popped into this new little cafe during the Kentlands Oktoberfest celebration. They offer a somewhat limited menu that includes Japanese style sandwiches and a good selection of drinks, as well as some Japanese snacks and candy. We ordered a strawberry matcha late and it took a reasonable amount of time to be freshly made. It was rich and delicious, with a nice consistency of matcha foam on top. There are several small tables available and all food appears to be made to takeaway, if desired. Service was polite and prompt, getting quickly through the consistent short line of customers. Cat-themed cafe in the Kentlands - a month ago on Saturday around noon there was no line but waited about 30 minutes before for the gyudon (they did warn me when I was ordering). This past Saturday around noon there was a line out the door (probably 20 minute wait to order) and another 30 minute wait to get the latte I ordered. That said the food and drinks are quite good so I was willing to wait (had my fiance wait while I went to Ed Studio nearby for pastries). I really loved the ginger latte which had real ginger and was not too sweet. The workers are friendly and the bathroom is nice and clean. I will be back! read more

Very sweet! Neko Nook has been on my "try list" since their soft launch a couple weeks ago and I couldn't be happier with the spot. I tried their iced coconut latte and it was delightful. The food, service, and atmosphere were outstanding. The place is cozy and perfect for brunch or lunch. The dishes were authentically Japanese -- we had the hamburger sandwich and beef bento, both of which felt like something you'd find at a café in Tokyo. This is the second time I have come to Neko Nook and often there is a very long line. My first visit, the line was about 20-30 people deep at around 1:00pm on a Saturday. About 30 minutes into my wait, I'm told by another CUSTOMER that all of the sandwiches are sold out, which I'm grateful for because I would've waited probably another 20-30 minutes before finding out I waited for nothing. The second time, we decided let's go earlier (keep in mind they open at 11:00). We showed up at 12:00 and they were already sold out of all but one type of sandwich. I understand they're popular but being sold out of everything one hour after opening sounds like a supply issue. At least notify potential customers so they don't waste their time going and waiting in line. I guess I'll have to wait to actually review the food when they actually have enough supply to last more than the first hour of opening. read more

There was already a sign out front saying that they ran out of sandos, but honestly, I was there for the coffee. I ordered the black sesame latte and I was told there was a shot of espresso in it. The ume fizz hand a slight sour yet salty taste that complimented the sweetness of the drink. The egg sando was fluffy like and cloud and was bursting with perfectly cooked eggy goodness.
